NHCO helps many individuals and families in a myriad of ways. They strive to aid people from food and job resumes to financial planning and transportation needs, etc. On occasions when they cannot directly fill the need, they refer to other agencies. And they use volunteers in as many roles as possible to keep down the cost of administration and so that more dollars can be used for those in need. It truly is "People Helping People."

This is absolutely the best nonprofit organization i have ever helped. They know how to use volunteers with a great variety of volunteer opportunities. They accommodate every one with flexible hours and tasks. By using volunteers in many different ways and not hiring more staff, they are able to make their funds go farther to help those in need.

There should be more stars ! Everyone at NHCO is so wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable ! They were there when I needed them most. The pantry workers are so helpful, especially the "Cereal Man" ! Natalie is an Angel and was so helpful and pleasant. It was refreshing to meet such wonderful people. Thank you !

As President of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club, as well as a three year NHCO board member, I have had the opportunity to see how effective and efficient Fay Morgan and her dedicated staff have been in reaching out to the community. Their efforts are tireless, effective, and far reaching.
The Board is a mixed group of professionals and individuals from many walks of life all cohesively working together to carry forth the mission.
There is no finer, more efficiently, and professionally run non-profit. It is an honor to emulate Fay Morgan's leadership style. NHCO is extremely deserving of being considered for this award.

Watching how much honor and respect is given to each and every food bank recipient as their burden is lightened; by serving on the Board, and by seeing on a continual basis how well the community has been served.

North Hills Community Outreach is highly organized and efficient in its use of donor resources to assist those in need. Its services are comprehensive, benefiting young and old. I feel assured that what I donate does maximum good. The staff is dedicated and conscientious and make me feel like a member of the team whenever I stop in. Volunteering is also easy and satisfying. I became involved with North Hills Community Outreach through its Community Auto program. The idea of repurposing donated cars by fixing them up and selling them at way below market value to needy individuals and families was so novel! Once involved, I became amazed and impressed by how well-run and well-managed the organization is. You can be sure that any donation given to NHCO is in good hands, and is going to help those who need it most.

I help senior citizens by giving them rides to doctor appointments, hair appointments or taking them grocery shopping. It is very enjoyable to meet new people and I like the feeling of giving back that I receive from doing this. NHCO is an awesome organization for facilitating this.
