So far, an exhilarating one! I went to the NIIT Yuva Center at Tuglakabad Village for the first on 5th September - to conduct a mentor session for youth(s), who were seen as unemployable despite being qualified. Since then, I have been going there every Saturday with the exception of 17th Oct (because of Diwali). Initially, I was given an impression that these youths were poor in English and so, it might be an arduous task (I do not speak English) in getting my points and arguments across to them. But to my surprise, I found these to children to be quite appreciative of my talks and lectures and, it has certainly given me a platform to freely express my knowledge and learning. I am very garteful to Mr. Neeraj Agarwal of NIIT for providig me this opportunity. I cannot be any less thankful to the staffs and volunteers at the centre, for making my Saturdays, a rewarding experience! Excited to be alive, Almanite Radhakrishnan

TNI have brought high quality computer education to youth in the urban slums. For these children, the TNI program is a facility and an offering that they could not even dream of accessing. TNI have constructed a program that is employment oriented, so it helps the youth to build a future for themselves. Their program helps the kids build their knowledge in critical areas: English, computer skills and confidence to interface with customers. Each of these are essential ingredients for success in today's world. The most extraordinary thing about this program is that it comes with an employment guarantee. Any student who completes the course successfully will be placed by TNI in the retail sector. I have been extremely impressed with the commitment of the TNI management in helping the urban youth to build their lives. TNI came to this slum with a prepackaged program. However, they have been very flexible and willing to learn from the feedback that they get from the students; they have worked rapidly to tweak the program to make it even more relevant to the needs of the students. I am confident that their programs will continue to expand and succeed.

I have been involved with this project in one slum, Beghumpur, since its inception. I have seen them take their first tentative steps, grope their way around, and stumble at times. But each time they have picked up the pieces rapidly and improve and grow

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The people..they are all committed and dedicated to their work, and to the cause they are serving.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
The organization is still settling down, so there has been some churning. However the people who have stayed on are very good.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Prepare several thousand students to go out and get great jobs.
Ways to make it better...
The had an ongoing program. However being involved with them from their inception has brought its own satisfaction, in that they have been able to adapt rapidly to the needs of the community.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
To get the word out, and get students in the door.
One thing I'd also say is that...
As they expand their base, the money will come!
