Nicholson Heritage Association does a fine and dandy job of preserving all things associated with the heritage of this small town. Having my maternal roots in Nicholson, I appreciate all that they do, especially concerning the Nicholson Bridge.

Every time I drive past this magnificent bridge I am in awe. nearly 100 years old - are you kidding me/ this structure is still in excellent condition. So many times i have had to take my photographer wife back to where i saw an awesome view with the sun behind it, wildlife in the creek in thr foreground of the bridge, or whatever. It is truly a site to behold. Hats off to those who have dedicated their time to commiting to renovate the old train station on Route 11. When it is completley revitalized, it will add another dimension to the already wonderful things to see in the Nicholson area as well as bring visitors to the entire region.

The Nicholson Heritage Association NHA) focuses on the local community of Nicholson and the heritage of this beautiful, local village which is struggling to remake itself in its Victorian roots. The Nicholson Bridge, also known as the Tunkhannock Viaduct, is a large part of the NHA's roots. Every year, Nicholson Borough and the NHA celebrates Nicholson Bridge Day, by organizing a group of volunteers. The historical celebration draws people from all over the area, keeping alive the history of the area. The NHA is very important to the area for having purchase the old Nicholson Railroad station, with plans to restore it. Presently they are working on fundraising for this project. It is essential that we all support these efforts so that the history of special areas, such as Nicholson, are kept alive for all generations to enjoy.

The Heritage is a very dedicated group supporting every effort to preserve the history of the town which also has the world's largest steel reinforced railway bridge. We are working to renovate and restore a railroad station built in 1849. A significant building in our town's history. We strive to bring tourism into Nicholson which also helps the businesses. Any fund raiser or event will always find members of the Nicholson Heritage Association out there doing all they can to make it a success. Each member freely donates their time in obtaining historical facts or items to share with the local residents and tourists. Organized in 1989 the Association and its members have always worked to make the history of the town more available to the public. It is a real privilege to state you are a member of the Nicholson Heritage Association.

The Nicholson Heritage Association / aka: NHA is by far one very important organization for the sake of this area with keeping area history alive and healthy. Since the NHA has bought the old freight station and knowing another historical building will be renewed and refurbished is a dauntless task but with all the railroad enthusists and the local people I am sure the town of Nicholson is going to be rewarded more than it realizes. I am very proud of what the NHA has accomplished in the past and what its future is going to mean to all of us.

The N.H.A. has long been interested in helping keep the past of the area alive. With the purchase of the local rail station - their mission has not only become more important, but also more critical. Going forward this group will maintain and preserve a part of not only local history, but a piece of National history as well. Keep your eyes open for great things from this group...

The Nicholson Heritage Association works hard to help keep the town of Nicholson alive. The train station project is just one of many projects on their list to achieve this. We're proud of our little town of Nicholson and what it stands for and are thankful to the Nicholson Heritage Association for the part they play towards Nicholson pride.

With so many old, not necessarily historic, going by the wayside and being demolished, it good to see this train struture staying. Nicholson is known for the famous Nicholson/Tunkhannock Viaduct and I believe this structure goes hand and hand with it. Keep up the good work.
