Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is a very good organization. They have done many helpful and good things for the community and it's people. I was sent over to the organization through Heald College to gain experience in the field that I am working in and will continue to work in. They have the friendliest staff who know exactly what they are there to do and that is help every single client that walks through the door. When I first came to Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence to help in the office, I knew nothing about the organization and as time went on I was able to pick up really quick on what the organization does. They provide many services for the community that make a big difference in their lives, as well as their families.I feel that Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is heaven sent and I know that all these services can amount to a lot of money, but looking past all cost you can not put a price on a child, mother, father, student or family that is being helped to better themselves, so that they may make a better future not only for themsleves but the people that also surround them. Working at Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is such a rewarding job that not all the money in the world can replace what the people at Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence do. So if you feel like you would like to put your money somewhere where people can put it to good use and really help and make a difference with it, please feel free to donate to Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence. You and your friends are always welcomed!

helping people and making a difference in peoples lives. Also working together as a team to get the work accomplished.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make a phone list that could be accessed through the computer along with email information so that the employees are easy to get a hold of. Advertise more and think of different ways to come up with fundraisers.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

All the people that I have met. The meetings that I've attended.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all outstanding and friendly. They are knowledgable of what it takes to keep the organization running as a successful organization.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help a lot of people.

Ways to make it better...

I have has good experiences with Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Having enough knowledgable staff to do all the duties and requirements that it takes to run as a successful organization.

One thing I'd also say is that...

They have an All Star staff.

We all know someone, a co-worker, a family member, a neighbor, who is experiencing domestic violence at this time. Next Door gives us a place to ask questions, refer someone for a safe haven, or to find a resource for prevention. NEXT DOOR Solutions for Domestic Violence is such a critical part of our community and we recognize them especially as we move into October, Domestic Violence Awareness month. Without Next Door, many affected by Domestic Violence would have absolutely no where to turn. Please support Next Door in their mission to end Domestic Violence - through your financial support or volunteering of your time. You may also donate items for the Holiday Boutique where hundreds of children and their moms have an opportunity, sometimes the only one they will have at the season, to give a gift to one another - a symbol of their love and commitment through these tough times.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The care and commitment of the staff and the positive reputation in the community.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Bright, caring, committed, humble, and persistent. They are always going beyond what one would expect in order to make a difference in one more life.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build more safe havens for families.

Ways to make it better...

I had $10M and would be able to fund additional resources including staff and increase prevention awareness and educational opportunties in the community.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The demand for services is never ending and the financial and people resources are being stretched - always finding creative, practical, and meaningful ways to do more with less.

I have been involved with Next Door solutions for over one year as a volunteer. I have had the pleasure of working with their staff on the Kid's Club program and newsletter. Kid's Club provides free child care for clients while they attend support groups at Next Door. Kid's club provides a safe, fun and educational environment for children and covers new topics each month. Topics like feelings, friendship, communication, self-esteem and many others are covered. I have seen first hand what a positive influence that Next Door solutions has on their clients, clients children and the community.

Next Door, started in 1974, is the oldest and most comprehensive agency in Santa Clara County dedicated to helping domestic violence victims. Its emergency shelter was the first bilingual shelter in the country. I became involved as a board member 4+ years ago and have been impressed every day since. Programs for kids and teens are outstanding. Multi-lingual victims approaching the court system couldn't get a better advocate and guide.

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence is an impressive organization. They are changing the way the general population views Domestic Violence. Not only are they helping victims in the moment, but they are making great strides in educating the public about D.V., which will go a long way towards ending the cycle for all time.

I've been involved with many non-profits through the years. What strikes me most about Next Door is the organization's devotion to their cause - to end domestic violence in the moment and for all time. Having served as a board member for five years, I'm continally amazed at the dedication and selflessness that all members (employees and volunteers) of NextDoor give to the victims of domestic violence. Leading and working for a non-profit presents constant challenges. This organization consistently rises to the challenge to best serve the community. I would encourage any one interested in this cause to learn more about NextDoor. I'm sure glad I did. Chris

Selfless. Every person they serve matters.

Build a new shelter and expand services.

Ways to make it better...

There was more government funding to support its efforts.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Government grants and private funding given the current economic client.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Kathleen Krenek has provided great leadership to this organization.

When I was five years old my mom had an ex- boyfriend that decided if he couldn't have her know one could. He broke into our house in the middle of the night and proceeded to beat her to death. He ended up braking her nose, eardrum, and knocked out all most all her teeth. Then called back and she answered the phone and said he was coming back to finish the job. He got one year sentence. I wanted to give to this cause and found this group called Next Door Solutions on the internet and have been a donor for several years now. The group of people that work there are outstanding. I am so proud to be a small part of what it is they are doing to help these woman and children.
