When I was a student at New Urban Arts I learned more about myself and the arts in a few weeks than I would have learned in a year elsewhere. The teaching methods had empowered me as a student to realize my potential. NUA had sparked my interest in poetry, photography, welding, ceramics, and many other art mediums. It had opened up a world of expression that as an inner-city youth I had no idea I could participate in.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the open and relaxed environment, which encourages growth and empowering the students.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

friendly and always willing to help.

Ways to make it better...

NUA were more vocal about activities.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

An amazing space, with amazing staff, student and volunteers. I learned so much about art and about myself in the two years I've been there.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my personal life. Especially dealing with people and how to work with others.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the open environment the space creates. It can be the first time you are there and you will feel welcome right away.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

strong and open to learning from their students and co-workers.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Change the world, well Providence at least.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

It's an amazing place to learn different aspects of art. The volunteers are wonderful and always doing more than asked of to help you. All the conections and friendships I formed have formed here have helped me learn and grow as a person and as an artists. One of the most amazing places I've ever known.
