Highly professional staff and strong board. NJCF celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2010, while completing 46 land transactions. Just completed a 1,100 acre wetlands restoration project in the Pinelands, the largest project on the East coast, and won the Governor's award. NJCF owns more than 20,000 acres, and has helped preserve more than 120,000 state-wide, roughly 5-1/2 times the size of Manhattan. We will have bought or helped preserve over 1,100 more acres by the end of 2011.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have been very active as President of the Board.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Continue to look for diverse board representation and expand our efforts in the Camden area.

NJCF is the most influential land trust in NJ. Virtually every other group in the state comes to NJCF for help/advice when structuring land deals, stewardship, legal issues, or advocacy. NJCF has helped preserve over 120,000 acres of farm and open space, working across the entire state - no other group does that. We own land or easements totaling 20,000 acres, including the massive 9,400 Franklin Parker Preserve in the Pinelands. 2010 marks our 50th anniversary ni the business of land preservation. See www.njconservation.org for more info, the NJCF page on Facebook, or call 888-526-3728 (888-LAND-SAVE) to volunteer or join.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Five years of Board participation - many acres preserved, progess in Camden, helped pass Green Acres bond issue, huge progress on easement legal defense issues, organizing the annual NJ Conservation Rally, plus countless educational and fun opportunities through our "Walks & Talks" program,to name a few.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Continue to help raise their visibility as the land trust leader in the state, including increasing membership and volunteer participation. Because we work state-wide, we are in everybody's "back yard", not just where our HQ is located.
