Our mission is to promote public understanding of alcoholism and drug dependence as treatable and preventable diseases. We accomplish our mission by providing excellent outpatient education and treatment services to individuals in Sacramento County suffering from substance abuse disorders. NCADD Sacramento is a local affiliate of a national organization founded in 1944 by Marty Mann, the first woman to maintain sobriety in the modern recovery movement. Today we adhere to a core system of values and beliefs that echo Marty’s vision. We believe that our services should be accessible to all; we believe in using only best practice and evidence based curriculum; we believe in a holistic approach to recovery; we believe in respecting the individual. The problems associated with addiction permeate our community, and so do the solutions: healthier families, a more productive economy, less crime, more efficient health care, and the promise of hope.
