The National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America is a wonderful place to invest your money in the future of our nations youth. While National Policy may be restrictive in who is allowed to participate or volunteer with the Boy Scouts, and whether or not that changes in May, NCAC will continue to strive to present the best programs for our children's moral and physical development, as they always have. The programs, day camps and summer camp activities have always been among the best there is, and having been a Scout in this Council, and continuing to support this Council's activities as a donating adult, I feel that there is no more worthwhile place to donate to than NCAC-BSA.

The Boy Scouts of America is a wonderful organization that inspires thousands of young men and women to "do their best" and contribute to society by upholding a standard of public service and personal integrity. Howerver, BSA policy discrimination against gay Scouts and employees is hurting the organization through loss of corporate sponsorships, reduced ability to recruit new members, disaffection of many current and former Scouts and volunteers, and loss of access to various public facilities. Most Americans, and in particular most young men and women, find it repugnant to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. The BSA is teaching our next generation of leaders that stigmatizing their peers on the basis of sexual orientation is acceptable. Before donating to the BSA, funders might want to ask themselves if they want to support an organization that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation and what kind of message that sends to their stakeholders.

On a personal note, I have been a volunteer with Boy Scouts of America in the National Captial Area Council for over 13 years.

The chance to work with youth and fellow volunteers with the BSA National Capital Area Council has been a wonderful experience. Some of the best times I've had in my life have been working with the youth (both boys and girls) and my fellow adult volunteers during the past 9 years I've been a volunteer with this organization. It has been truly rewarding to see the development of the youth over the years and all that they've been able to accomplish. They are an inspiration and our future so volunteering with BSA has definitely been a worthwhile investment of my time, talent, and money.

The National Capital Area Council BSA is a great organization that teaches youth leadership and citizenship skills. Youth learn to work with other youth and with adults. Youth learn to live in and enjoy the great outdoors. Youth learn to respect their environment.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing Scouts grow through Scouting and become good citizens and leaders in our community.

This is a good organization. There are times where I think the NCAC staff could be more responsive or helpful, but this is a very large organization so answers to questions cannot always be immediate. Fact is, everyone believes in the program.
