NBCF has been a client of Gannett's for 5+ years. They do amazing work to empower women to participate in early detection programs and offer important guidance through their after the shock programs. But what really captured my heart was how they provide to the underserved and underinsured women with special programs linked to hospitals in every state across the US. We are proud to have NBCF as our client and friend.

National Breast Cancer Foundation has supported mammography services for hundreds of breast imaging patients at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. The generosity removes financial barrier for women by covering the cost of screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms and ultrasound procedures.

NBCF funds also have allowed Parkland to add a highly qualified bilingual patient navigator to our patient services team. She helps provide a more seamless continuum of care for Parkland Breast Center patients. Her presence is helping reduce wait times for patients and significantly reduces the anxiety sometimes associated with medical procedures.

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance have been fortunate to receive grant funding from the National Breast Cancer Foundation since 2007. In 2012 we were able to provide breast cancer screening services to over 800 women who didn't have insurance. The majority of patients are screened through SCCA's Mobile Mammography Van which works with community organizations and churchs to provide screening mammograms. Early detection has been proven to be a game changer in breast cancer survivorship. NBCF's funding has allowed us to make these life-saving exams avaialble to women in need throughout western Washington!

“Without the support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the SCCA would not be able to meet the screening needs of women regardless of their ability to pay. We know that early detection thorough screening saves lives. Last year we were able to expand our services to include much of the Puget Sound. We were able to provide mammography screening at many partner clinics, for many of the women screened; this was their first mammogram as adult woman.”
--Madeline Buelt MSN, RN, Vice President, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance

“Without the generous funding from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, many women in our region would not have access to life-saving mammograms. As a physician, I know that screening works but that access remains a key issue. We are so grateful to the NBCF for their support to eliminate barriers to healthcare.”

Professor & Vice Chair of Radiology, Section Head of Breast Imaging; University of Washington

Martin Health System patients have benefited greatly from the grant we received for breast cancer screenings, diagnostics and education. With the help of National Breast Cancer Foundation, we have been able to provide life saving treatment to those who might otherwise fall through the cracks. By working together with NBCF - we are changing lives. Thank you!

Our organization’s commitment to enhance the quality of life and raise breast health awareness for the people we serve is made possible with the generous support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation! Since our partnership, more than 4,000 uninsured and underserved women in Oakland County have received free mammogram screenings. In the last year, we provided 1,400 free mammograms and 18 women were diagnosed with cancer. Each of these women received successful follow-up treatment and 18 beautiful lives were saved. Thank you, NBCF!

“This helps out a lot. I spent two weeks in the ER/hospital and received a large bill. I am grateful that I can get a mammogram. It’s a great help for me because I’m only working part-time at a school. Everyone here at the breast center has been very helpful and attending.”

Patient Quotes (served by public county hospital system):
“This is such a great service for patients. I am currently on unemployment and searching for a job daily. I always used to get my screening mammograms. I came to get a mammogram on June 4, hoping that I could get a mammogram and I did
and was told that I was an out of county patient, but there was some grants available for me. I was so thankful for that news. I am so pleased with what you are doing at the mammography center. Please continue to help women that are in need."

"Thank you for all you do. If it wasn't for Breast Cancer Connections' Gabriella Patser Program supported by a grant from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, I don't know where I would be today. I am only 24 years old and found out 6 months ago that I have a tumor the size of two baseballs in my breast. With no medical insurance and no current job, I did not know where to turn. This program is my guardian angel. I will be forever grateful for the unlimited emotional, mental, and financial support this program provided. This program helped me get my happy back, and for that I thank you. I feel blessed, humbled and strengthened by this whole experience, I could not have done it without your support. I am extremely grateful and appreciative for this wonderful program. Continue to do amazing work and touch people's lives.

M.S.’s daughter-in-law states: “She remembers the navigators’ time shared and was not sure at the time of her pathology results what her new medical situation would bring. This situation certainly caught all of us (family, friends) unaware. My family and I felt very good about the team approach and that of the breast surgeon.”
M.S. says: “Several years ago, one of our children had surgery where she lived in Orlando. I was the primary caregiver; and I was completely caught unaware of the post-op items and care that would be needed. Not being familiar with the Cincinnati area, we have found the navigators and team at your breast center to be very helpful with references, and resources to better prepare us for my surgery, so that my family could provide me with the best care. So, thank you all for being there for us and sharing all the wonderful resources and information available to me and other patients at a time when we critically needed it. You all have made a big difference in those first few days, and weeks of my diagnosis. We just wanted to let the navigators and staff know how grateful we are for the quick responses, and precise diagnosis and recommendations for my surgery and oncology needs. Thanks again for all the answers to all those questions. You all helped to calm the nerves, and anxiety….couldn’t have done it without you all.”
