The guests and volunteers are what makes My Brother's Table special. What makes My Brother's Table subpar is the disorganization and ineptitude of the Board and the front office staff.

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... meeting and interacting with the guests and volunteers
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... the front office staff and Board of Directors would not compromise the mission.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... Focus on serving the guests within the context of their needs as it says n the organization's website.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the ability to continue the mission considering the direction the Board and upper management have chosen to take.

I volunteer at My Brother's Table once a month as part of our church group and as an individual once a week. MBT is an excellent organization and feeds a lot of people with limited resources.

The Great!
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very helpful and good to work with
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... Do not know
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Lack of funds and uncertain support by the City of Lynn

I have been involved with My Brothers Table since day one and think it does a superb job in serving those in need. Unfortunately because of a severe back problem I can no longer take an active part in the meal program but try my best to help in raising funds.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... meeting the needs of many individuals in the community in a most hospitable fashion.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Meeting wonderful guests, staff and volunteers.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... compassionate and caring individuals
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... create an endowment alleviating future fiscal worries.
Ways to make it better!
  • If I ran this organization, I would... hope to provide more consistent funding.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Money

I volunteer at lunch one day each week and for the main meal on one Saturday a month (18 years now). There can be no experience like it: the volunteers are friendly and dedicated; the guests could not be nicer nor more appreciative of what is made available to them. The meals are nutritious, and other services provided are a great bonus for the guests. It is a service of great necessity in Lynn. I can't imagine my life without being one of its volunteers.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... seeing some of the guests no longer needing its services, but knowing that it is there for anyone needing its services.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... meeting other friendly and dedicated volunteers, and knowing somehow I'm helping people in need (of whom but for the grace of God I could be one).
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... friendly, dedicated and eager to work at anything needing to be done.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... it could find its own home and no longer have to be concerned about pleasing "outsiders".
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... the pantry were more organized and there was a consistency to donations.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... make a plan to keep the pantry organized and do a better job of volunteer coordination (not have too many or few volunteers for meal prep).
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... financial funding and consistent food donations.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... Serving the guests is so filled with satisfaction. I thank God I can be one to serve and not be one in need of a meal.

I have been helping at My Brothers Table for many years. Currently I go one day a week to do whatever is needed. Sometimes there are vegetables to be cut, sandwiches to be made, fruit to be plated and there is always food to be put away in the dry goods pantry. The most rewarding is the service of our guests. They are appreciative and generally gracious. I enjoy bringing young people (high schoolers) periodically to serve. They love the experience.

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The opportunity to serve the least of God's people.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Other volunteers are generous with their time and fun to work with.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Provide more services to rehabilitate those who desire to change their behaviors.
Ways to make it better!
  • If I ran this organization, I would... Better organize volunteers. Sometimes there are too many people and other times not enough.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... CASH
