We recently visited an adoption event held at The Rim in San Antonio, TX. There were many pet adoption organizations present. I had been researching adopting a dog and looking at dogs up for adoption online. I had viewed a particular puppy that was being adopted out by Mutt Mums Canine Rescue. When we saw that Mutt Mums was at this event we went to look at the puppy I had been looking at online. We held the puppy and were very fond of it. We currently have three dogs, two German Short Hairs that are hunting dogs and one jindo that is the family pet. The German Short Hairs are kept outdoors on an acre lot with AKC approved kennels that are kept on concrete in a covered car park. All are dogs are very well cared for and extremely well trained. When we told Anita Stone about our dogs and their living arrangements she became instantly rude and pretentious towards us. She insisted that all dogs should be house dogs, stating that she keeps her 75lb lab and her Great Dane in her house (which in my opinion is animal abuse to keep dogs of that size as indoor pets). She was extremely malicious and judgmental towards us and blatantly stated that she wouldn't adopt to us because we had outdoor dogs and told us to go look at other adoption organizations. Anita Lesley Stone is a completely insensitive, ignorant, rude witch with an extremely skewed idea about what makes a good home for a pet. I would never recommend dealing with her organization when adopting a pet and would never wish the ill upon a dog of ending up in her shelter.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Remove Anita Lesley Stone from it.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
was holding the puppy that didn't get a home.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
were friendly and helpful with the exception of Anita Lesley Stone.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
get rid of Anita Lesley Stone.
Ways to make it better...
Anita Lesley Stone wasn't such an ignorant individual.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Anita Lesley Stone and her prejudices.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I would have been the best family that puppy would have known, but unfortunately a single individuals ignorance (Anita Lesley Stone) kept this puppy from going home with a loving family.
