Mutt Matchers and Friends is a well organized nonprofit organization that is wonderful for the dogs. They take very loving care of them all. The staff have a love for these unwanted pets, and go above and beyond to assure that the dogs go to good homes. They keep the dogs clean, happy, fed. Give them play time, walks, and lots of TLC.

Mutt Matchers & Friends is a non-profit dog shelter in Kingman, AZ. It is one of the best animal shelters I have ever come in contact with because it is unbelievably clean, the dogs are happy, well-socialized creatures, and the people who volunteer and work there are educated about each dog in their care as well as dog ownership. The volunteers and employees care deeply about each dog and want to ensure that it goes to the best possible home. This means that each dog is treated like a "special favorite". I can't say enough positive things about Mutt Matchers & Friends. It's just a great organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've helped to socialize the dogs as well as looking over applications and going on yard checks. I've also helped pick dogs from the animal control which consists of evaluating the dogs for proper socialization. Finally, I've help take dogs to the vet.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I really love working with the dogs. They are all so unique and fun to be around.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Everyone puts the health and well-being of the dogs at the top of their priority list, and it is apparent when you see the facility. Everyone is also very well-educated about each dog and about dog ownership.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Buy/build a huge facility so they could rescue tons of dogs. They'd have a vet on staff as well as dog trainers and other people to ensure the organization is properly run. They would also be able to expand their spay/neuter program in the area.

This is a wonderful organization. They truly care about the dogs that they rescue and rehome. The facility is unique in that the dogs have a outer large individual kennels and common shaded play area. They also have indoor kennels that are heated in the winterand cooled in the summer. Their indoor kennels are cleaned and sanitized daily. The staff mannerizes and socializes all of the dogs with walks, basic training, office (family) time. All dogs are current on shots, they are spayed or neutered and they are microchiped. When someone wants to adopt they must fill out an application, be interviewed by a panel, agree to a yard security check. If they have ither dogs they must bring the dog in for an introduction. The small staff and volunteers do all that they can to maintain physical and mental well being of the dogs in their care

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing rescued dogs gi to their "fur-ever homes". Having adopters bring their dogs back for visits and seeing how happy and content the dogs are.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All of our volunteers are very considerate and kind to our dogs as well as our human visitors.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Buy a larger piece of land and expand to rescue more dogs and possibly add a cattery. Have a vet on staff to do shots, spay/neuters, and general health care. Hire more staff for more in depth socialization and basic training for our dogs.

Ways to make it better...

More dogs could have been rescued and adopted.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

They have a small facility that cannot be expanded because of land constraints. Keeping donations coming in to fund the center.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The founder of the organization is an experienced trainer & handler. All of the staff and volunteers have been trained in basic handling and dog psychology.
