For many of us, one of the most profound experiences in our lives is connected to psychedelics. After a comet like explosion in the 60's, this misunderstood tool became like the kid in class who misbehaves and is sent to the back corner of the room. MAPS, like a wise teacher, coaxed that kid back to the center of the room, to its proper place. Thank god for MAPS!

I am a 64 yr old, middle class non-drug using female. All of my experimentation was when I was young. But I've never forgotten the experiences. There is a place for hallucinogenic drugs in mankind's future. Moderation (and thoughtfulness and reasonableness) are all reasons that I support MAPS. Their place in our future must be supported.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Only by email and phone but always, always, always helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Continue their research.

My experience has been perfect. No rudeness from the people here. Just a desire to help.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Continued funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I wish them and their not-so-always-understood efforts well.

Just at the moment i sit at my Mac, at home in Switzerland/Bern writing a homework for my study in Psychotherapy about PTSD-therapy. Because there is also one MDMA/PTSD Study in Switzerland sponsored by maps, i use this site for getting all my information i need. I honour the work of MAPS for their enthusiasm and professionality in proceeding all the work which is needed to become psychoactives useful and legal medicine. In my profession as therapist i see many people suffering on their illnesses not finding a way to their inner being. I think, MDMA used in a professional kind of therapy is a powerful instrument for finding out of a problem related world into a self regulated one by recognizing one's own responsibility. And this by a way no other regular psychopharmaka supported therapy can afford.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their enthusiasm and their professionality

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

...all open hearted!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

become a bit more known in the outback of the world and then even get another ten million for their work, because more people would make more donations instead of wasting their money for unuseful things.

Ways to make it better...

the site was in german ;-)

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

legalisation of psychedelics for professional use.

One thing I'd also say is that...

MAPS brings FACTS.

I have been a memeber of MAPS for 9 years. My experience is absolutely positive. This is a unique organization that promotes scientific research in the neglected and stigmatised area of psychedelics. I believe this area of research may prove very beneficial for promotion of mental health.

MAPS is an excellent organization for clarifying and engaging all issues related to the use of psychedelic medicines from a political, legal, cultural, spiritual, social, medical and personal level. I attended a conference produced by the organization recently in April 2010, and, was deeply impressed by how this field had matured, bringing much psychological and scientific research to the current topic. The shift in consciousness with proper use of psychedelic medicines can be and is nothing less than evolutionarily expansive and integrative at all levels of our lives. Thank you to MAPS and the people that work with the organization's purpose; for doing such a great job.

MAPS expertise and work is highly needed in our times and their action in the wide field of psychedelic medecine and psychedelic healing is full of promise for the birth of new treatments and of a enlightened perspective of psychedelics in our modern western societies. Their dedicated team is doing wonders and have helped many to move toward more compassion, increase knowledge and scientific understanding, and open minds and hearts. Alexandre QUARANTA, Ph.D.

I have been a MAPS member since 2006. This organization is the future of integrating academic research with awareness of humanity. I am continually astounded by the rigor of medical research found by those associated with MAPS, yet the wonder has not been extinguished--as in most forms of the academy and popular culture. The resources MAPS has to guests and its members are essential for the world's (and America's) future. Please go to the website and review all materials at your leisure. It will be beneficial both for you and your loved ones.

MAPS helps to focus new efforts in the study of the potential Psychedelics have to offer to today's society. I am working for a big pharmaceutical company and I recognize the benefits that some of these compounds might have for improving health. Studies on treating severe illnesses such as PostTraumatic Disorder or varieties of other anxiety and also pain realted disorders with now only (dis)regarded for their hallucinogenic effects prove to me that we need to focus our efforts to supporting the great work that MAPS has initiated. In a time where there is still so much suffering, there need to be new ideas of how to cure and treat illnesses. MAPS contributes a great deal to this.

revolution our way of thinking and the way current cases of illness & disorder are treated. I even think we might find a cure to illnesses that have been a burden to humanity for long.

I'm a member of MAPS since two years ago. Though I'm french, I support this organization because it's simply the most efficient and professional in this field. They are focused in science and medical research, do an impressive job to make that happens and it's actually happening thanks to them. They get government approval, they gather all the best specialists in psychedelic research worldwide.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

they helped me finding other specialists in the field in my country and meeting them. Their conferences get me perfectly accurate and up to date.
