MAPS has been a courageous spearhead in the struggle to end the prohibition of therapeutically valuable psychedelics. I congratulate Rick Doblin and his staff for undertaking this important work.

The MAPS material is always varied. It academic without being overwhelming, and they also tackle some of the more quirky experiences resulting from psychedelic use - one story which springs to mind, if I remember correctly, is of someone learning to wrrite with their left hand after taking MDMA, putting questions to it and getting instructive and unexpeced responses.

Their research was very useful for a chapter of my book (Nemu's End: The History, Psychology and Poetry of the Apocalypse), looking at how scientists have made original discoveries and inventions whilst using psychedelics.

Psychedelic research is a fascinating and important area. The human mind is the most powerful, enigmatic concept we know - it would be an injustice not to explore and learn more about it.

As a MAPS supporter for many years, I can say, without reservation, that the work Rick Doblin and his staff have done to promote important clinical research has been superlative. I believe MAPS along with The Heffter Society have the potential to manifest new treatment paradigms for many sufferers of mental illness. I believe these have potential for healing psychic wounds which may otherwise not respond to conventional allopathic modalities. Phillip Grob. M.D.

MAPS is an extremely important organization, one that goes against the grain in a certain sense, in that it relies on "outside the box" thinking in order to solve some of the problems that face modern society. While many people may shun or look down upon the work that they do, I feel that it is absolutely essential that their research continues and expands, as they are on the brink of some of the most important and helpful scientific discoveries of our times, and have the capability to vastly improve the lives of millions of people around the world.

I have been a volunteer with the MAPS organization for several years. I like the program and will continue to volunteer for as long as they need me.

Actually being motivated enough to volunteer. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm not the sort to volunteer much at all.

Since the discovery of psychedelic drugs the human entity had a clear and concise avenue into understanding the conscious and unconscious mind, however, it’s a shame that the illicit user is selfish and naïve, for they ruined an alluring apparatus that was useful in psychotherapy. Considerable knowledge of philosophical and scientific terminology has allowed for many to be skeptical, thus, facilitating an inclination towards emancipation and intellectual understanding of the human brain and how it processes. Such research and practice leads one to the never-ending inquiry of what is happening inside the brain neurologically; resulting in limitless and perpetual questions. However, they are eligible and testable questions. With the recent permission and alluring indulgent of psychedelics, we incline towards a better today, tomorrow and relief from the disquieting past that intrudes and haunts our thoughts. P.S. If anyone would like to read a literature review that I gathered and researched please feel free to personally email me at Zcassista849@students.ccsnh.edu, or call me at (603)-305-8094. Or if you have one to share, I would be drastically be interested. Thank you, Zachary Cassista

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Want for myself to be more involved, for I have a lot of personal and unpersonal viewpoints/perspectives and profound, surreal and undescribable experiences.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The deeper and clearer understanding into the realm of psychedelics and the human mind.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Doctors and Teachers, amazing and intriguing people who have shared many words of wisdom and insight, only to broaden and illuminate on my horizon of day to day and subsequent endeavors!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Speed up the process of analyzing, demonstrating and confirming data from the diverse and variety of philosophical viewpoints, beliefs and acceptance. However, as many say, "you can't rush a good thing".

Ways to make it better...

I could be more involved.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Societal perspectives.

One thing I'd also say is that...

It's not about recruiting the everyday general public, however, it's synthesizing, generating and re-installing (every synonym for) BELIEF, including the abysmal nature of the human mind as its own entity into our conscious thoughts. There here and now.

MAPS is an excellent organization with great integrity and best of intentions. They work they are doing is invaluable and the brave people who stand up and fight for what they know is right in the name of helping others deserves all it can get. As they have steadily progressed with their projects and the success of their clinical studies it is only a matter of time before many people wake up and realize the importance of this work and how it has been all along, thanks to the incredibly supportive community who literally fund it all independently.
