The quality of the program is probably mainly due to an amazing bunch of teachers. They are artists in life and believe in children bringing their best in expressing themselves.
Children have the opportunity to think outside the box and work with unexpected materials.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

… in seeing children overcome the fact that they thought they weren't creative and couldn't make anything big!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

bring more funds to offer the program to more children!

I have two spectrum kids who have done really well at Multi-arts
they have nurtured one of my son's special talent in art and managed some very different developmental levels than his peers! They have been positive and supportive. They have alot of counselors in the summer which I like alot!
As well as alot of fun interesting child focused and driven activities. For instance, the play is written by the children then they perform it for family/visitors at the end of the week.
They do art, acting, singing, dance, music all in each day/session.
They are expanding doing a variety of things- My sons also did their seminar for making their own Halloween costumes which I hope will become an annual tradition- They would go to the after school too if it didn't conflict with other things they are already committed to.

My child's art has been exhibited publicly. He feels proud and that he has a special talent and a place to work on it. Pleased that they can manage his occasional behavioral challenges!

I like how they are expanding and diversifying. Increasing after school and occasional activities. (like Halloween) I am looking to doing some of their winter vacation.

The talent, dedication, and enthusiasm of the Multi-Arts executive director and her staff are extraordinary. The group is constantly striving to provide children in the community with new and varied creative workshops and the staff are willing to work with very tightly-controlled budgets to try to grow their programs. As the treasurer and a board member, I can attest to the fiscal responsibility of the organization.

I enrolled my child in the Multi-Arts summer camp in 2010. Every day she was more than excited to get to camp and see her friends. In 2010 they added a Fashion Design program to their list of artistic activities. It was my daughters' favorite class, besides drama. Whenever I came to pick her up, the whole camp was buzzing with enthusiastic children and responsive adults. The counselours and teachers all helpred to educate the kids in every kind of art imaginable. I only wish that there had been a program like this when I was young.

My daughter came home every day with a new story or a piece of artwork to hang on the wall. At the end of the two-week session, she acted in a play and walked in a fashion show, which made wonderful family movies. Some painting of hers were on display during the show as well.

I only wish they had a more stable space to hold thier activities. My daughter attened the last session which was held in the new Methodist Church, but for weeks before it had been held in Wildwood elementary.

A vital, nourishing & supportive forum for young ones to experience many forms of the arts. Through personal one to one appreciation & instruction by true artists in the fields I saw tremendous stretches of ability, confidence & skill take place in a few short weeks. A tremendous & unique place.

We found Multi-Arts when we moved to Amherst in 2002. It was our introduction to the area, and we were amazed by the energy and commitment of the professional artists running it. My daughter has returned every summer since. She discovered flamenco (how many programs for kids offer flamenco!) and has become a very good dancer. Multi-Arts also expanded her love of music -- and her love for the family behind the program. It is a program that should be year-round, in the schools, and expanded to allow a larger number of participants. It's great that they extend financial help to children who otherwise might not be able to participate.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

my daughter's joy

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

committed, professional, and enthusiastic

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand to a year-round program, do arts programs in the schools, help create offshoots of the program in other communities, and find a permanent space.

Ways to make it better...

one longer session was added to let those kids most interested in creating a performance piece do so.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial and not having a permanent space
