Motley Zoo Animal Rescue

Issues: Animals

Location: 23316 Ne Redmond Fall City Rd #522 Redmond WA 98053 USA

Mission:

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.

Programs: Rescue, Rehabilitate and Educate: -We rescue animals in need and provide them basic and complex medical treatments, shelter, and love in a home enviornment- so we can best get to know them and understand their long term needs -We rehabilitate harder to place animals with more complex training needs. Our ability to help is based on capacity and fostering availibility, rather than restrictions on breed etc. We take each case one at a time. -We educate the public on the plight of rescue animals as well as some tricks and tips to manage their pets, especially if they may be thinking about rehoming them for something minor and fixable- we can help provide a strategy. For more serious cases, we can refer trainers/ rehabbers, and always encourage seeking an evaluation to determine the general safety of the animal.

As Executive Director, I am responsible for the overall function and perception of the group. I am proud to say, on a daily basis, we received confirmation that we are indeed doing what we set out to do when we founded Motley Zoo.

We desired to make sure pets and people didn't fall through the cracks, as we experienced in our prior volunteer work. We had ideas we believed could improve the process for everyone, and we set about putting them into motion. None of these ideas seemed truly revolutionary, and yet in fact, that has been the result: revolutionary changes in what rescues can accomplish.

It has been an amazing experience to see that indeed dreams do come true- especially when it comes to the reality that we're saving lives on a daily basis! We are so pleased to receive the great reviews and compliments we do- but we never believe that sitting back and taking these compliments as fact is enough- we're always striving for more, for better- and the only way we can do that is to never take for granted our effectiveness and strategy. Instead, it's a constant effort to improve along the way.

People need to speak for the animals, and if you ask any Motley Zoo foster, adopter or volunteer, you will get a mouthful- all good, of course! Our people are what make us great and we can't do it without them...to everyone who has been and is a part of Motley Zoo:

Motley Zoo rocks- because of you!

motley zoo is an ALL volunteer group, where the people involed literally dedicate their lives to these pets in need. we work so hard, not just to "find homes" but rather to make the very best matches. because of this we have a high rate of success. we remember that everyone invo9lved in this process is a valuable part of doing what we do- and we never forget to appreciate and thank our "crew" and the adopters, family, friends and donors that make our work possible besides. we are grateful for the support we have! motley zoo rocks, because of YOU.
