Mission: The mission of Mothering Across Continents is “Adopting Dreams. Raising Tomorrow’s Leaders.” We pursue this mission by providing a platform for volunteer catalysts – particularly women – to receive consulting, coaching and mentoring to develop dream projects. Our focus is developing and delivering innovative education projects serving orphans, at-risk, and vulnerable children in the most impoverished, under-served locations. We’re committed to guiding these projects to become models for change.
Results: Mothering Across Continents has launched and supported projects in 10 countries. We have served over 6,000 children, engaged 400+ volunteers, educated 10,000 U.S. students about global issues and raised 1.5 million since inception for our projects. We developed the first merit school program for Mwiko Primary School –an impoverished school in Rwanda which serves children and families effected by genocide. We built the first permanent primary school in Unity State South Sudan where only 1 in 10 have access to education and 90% of adults can’t read. We introduced the first technology-focused vocational and lifestyle training program for young women in rural northern Haiti. We developed the first sustainable early-childhood development center in a community of Kwa-Zula Natal in South Africa.

I direct a non-profit that like Mothering Across Continents also works in South Sudan, which is a particularly hard context because of the current tribal conflict, and government instability. I am very impressed with Mothering Across Continents for persevering, despite all the challenges. I also am particularly impressed with their very effective programs to engage schools in the US in both learning about South Sudan, in advocacy the the US government, and fundraising for projects that really make a difference! Well done!

I learned about Mathering across Contintents many years ago, and had the pleasure to meet some people last year in person. The virtue, tenacity and sensitivity upon the approach and esp. commitment to the defined task, to create / maintain this platform, which supports to launch or consult with and mentor dream projects to became real, I highly respect and support.

The thoughtful evaluation, whether for the individual project like school building, literacy, meals, life skills/leadership development, and peace projects might serve best, is always respecting the individual, local situation, with having the global setting in mind.

Organisations - business, politics, arts, science, or commerce – have an urgent requirement to invest in the future leadership. The leaders of our future world may appear to be among those who are ‘The Haves’ rather than ‘The Have-Nots’ - which are here in the focus.

Mothering across Continents provides a plattform for those, who might be the next generation, that will lead with confidence in their leadership, able to guide themselves and organisations in the new and uncharted territory of a changing, unpredictable and emerging world.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

first evaluate with them the strategy they have in mind and take it from there.
