I have been a fan of MEIC since the late 1970s. I found that the newsletter produced by this organization gave me solid scientific and political information, and still does, for the good fight against oppressive natural resource extractive industries in Montana. When I inherited money one of my first actions was to become a major donor to MEIC. I do this for no other organization. I truly believe in their goal to further renewable resource energy policies that would replace egregious removal of natural carbon based resources. I am now serving my first term as a board member and feel a greater bond with MEIC because of it.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The legislative process: MEIC is a valuable lobbying organization.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
mostly encourage a larger membership with a younger generation.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
being associated with bright people who help me develop my conservation ideals.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
always bright, always charming and well informed.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
defeat coal development in Montana.
Ways to make it better...
If we survive the recession and find new grants and foundations.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
suvival of the recession.
One thing I'd also say is that...
effective conservation organizations are few and MEIC is very effective in achieving its goals.
