I am absolutely in love with Momentum Tutoring. The close relationships I created with my supervisors, fellow volunteers, parents and students is incredible. I am extremely grateful to have had my first job there. It has given me many leadership opportunities which has helped me in college among other things. Just having this job has helped me gain confidence in anything and everything I do. I have gained responsibility and learned the meaning of respect, compassion, and hard work that has helped me in my college life, work life and personal life. I even learned patience which I never thought I could learn.

I have seen great results in how the schedule is distributed each week and promptly. I have seen fantastic results in the resources we have to help tutor the students. I have seen amazing results in many students grades and socially behaviors. Even the way it is runned, is better structured and organized.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
change nothing. The way the run this organization to the way Theresa Bozhor and the other volunteers treat each other as well as the students and parents is fantastic!

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes! I now am apart of an organization called City Year; I give a year of my life to do volunteer service. I work in schools in the city of Manchester, in a 5th grade class room 4 days a week and I mentor and tutor not only kids in my class but in the entire school.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

I've been employed at momentum tutoring for the last five months and love seeing all the children learn. The students are always eager to come in and work on their daily homework. We have kids that struggle of course, but we are able to help them prosper academically. I'm always pleased when I see their new accomplishments. It reassures me that we, Momentum, do our job. The one thing I wouuld change about Momentum is getting more supplies so tutors can use new ways to teach their students.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Add more supplies for the students and tutors. Or more learning games so when they're done with their homework they have something academic to do.
I have worked for momentum tutoring for almost three years now. I have enjoyed working with the students and helping them achieve their goals. I would say the most rewarding part of my job is seeing our students faces when they accomplish a school project and go around the center telling each tutor what they have done.

I began at Momentum as a volunteer and i have loved the experience. I love working with the kids and it is amazing to see the students improve their school work and attitudes. One of my students improved immensely and even received the student of the month award. That was great to see how Momentum has helped and made a difference in this child's life. Momentum is a great program and every tutor cares for each kid that comes. I love every aspect of working here.

I wouldn't make any changes in Momentum.
I recently began volunteering at Momentum and enjoy all aspects of this great nonprofit. Before I worked here, I worked in retail where the entirety of the job consisted of folding clothes and competing with your coworkers for sales. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to know and understand that the small community of volunteers we have, are motivated to cooperate and make a difference in our community. Currently, I am I high school senior ready to attend a four year college, so becoming employed full-time was not appealing. Working at Momentum gives me the opportunity to effect the lives of our future, and do so on a scheduled that is flexible, and convenient for my teenage, scholarly lifestyle. Everyday I walk in the door, I am greeted not only by warm, smiling coworkers, but a comforting environment that undoubtedly fosters learning and a deep-rooted love for education. The most rewarding aspect of this job comes not from the relationships I have built, nor the friends I have made, but the look on a child's face when a concept they previously perceived as abstract, solidifies itself, and becomes pleasurable for the student to learn. At times, I will glance at the student doing their work, and hope that perhaps something -- anything I have said will impact or help that student in life; it is a unique experience and I thank Momentum Tutoring for giving me the opportunity to make a difference.

I would like to see this organization grow and become integrated into many parts of our community, and by result, reach more students, and effect more lives.
I have worked for Momentum for almost 5 years. I have enjoyed seeing kids succeed and get the help they need. Momentum has given me the experience I when I become a high school math teacher.

increase funding and add more locations, so everyone could get affordable tutoring
I am a tutor here at Momentum Tutoring and it is an amazing organization. I have seen how much kids are benefited from coming to tutoring. It is so exciting when a student comes in, excited about their grades! Working here is also a great opportunity and it allows me to balance my schoolwork and my job.

I am currently a tutor for Momentum tutoring and can say that, through my observations, this center has been a great asset to many students in their studies. I have witnessed firsthand the awesome achievements and progress made by many different students of many academic levels. I am very proud to be able to work alongside a wonderful, supportive staff and help the many different students reach their goals. This has definitely been a wonderful experience for me.

Momentum has gave me the chance to explore different grades. It has been a great experience for a liberal studies major. They truly care for their clients and I' m proud to volunteer for them.

I wouldn't change anything
Momentum Tutoring has a level of care and dedication that amaze me. I currently work for Momentum Tutoring and can not believe how excited the students are to come in and learn. Terry takes the time to personally match students to tutors and it really shows. The students learn and grow with each session and it is really a special experience.
