I'm not sure how Mission4Maureen heard about us, but they were a Godsend. My son was diagnosed with glioblastoma last November and I was unable to work for 6 months. I am self employed, so my business suffered greatly. We were driving from North Idaho to Seattle every week for radiation and now drive 2 1/2 hours biweekly to Spokane,WA to get chemo. I have my son on additional supplemements and the cost is great. Thank you so much for taking a dent out of some of my bills. Sincerely, Cheryl

Mission4Maureen provided financial assistance to my husband who was striken with brain cancer -glioblastoma. They helped him cover some of his medical expenses. This was such a wonderful help to us. Made a significant dent in our financial burdens. The suddenness of the illness put him in financial straits in that he is privately employed and had been experiencing lapses in memory, etc., prior to this - thus putting a dent in his income. The staff at Mission 4 Maureen are so persoanable, kind, and helpful. And I do agree that they come to ones aid so quickly and efficiently. Just impresses on me the importance of giving to such organizations. They fill such a gap in our system. We cannot thank them enough. Heard about them through UCSF Medical Center Brain Cancer Center. They publish a list of organizations that help brain cancer victims. This one was the most accessible. We must give, give, and give some more.

I became to know Mission4Maureen through a referral agency. My son was diagnoised with his second brain tumor, we were having a real hard time dealing with his diagnosis and the financial hardship was enourmous,I submitted an application and this nonprofit was Great, they helped with our rent and several other financial burdens that we were dealing with. Not only did they help, but the turn around was unbelievable, I just don't know where we would be without their help, they understood our need, they cared and you don't see that in a lot of nonprofits. Our family is truely blessed to have been referred to them.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
be a great benefit for families that have been devastated by medical expenses and ongoing care.
Ways to make it better...
I don't think that it could have been any better, They were wonderful, I just wish there were more caring people in this world.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Finding donations, finding a cause of brain tumors.
One thing I'd also say is that...
They are an asset of information, support and knowledge in fighting pediatric brain tumors.

Mission4Maureen is a life saving organization. There are very few organizations (if any?) that assist those struggling with brain cancer, and Mission4Maureen is exemplary. Without their assistance, my medical bills would have completely overwhelmed myself and my young family.

Mission4Maureen is an awesome & supportive organization. They stepped in during a very challenging time in my life & assisted with my mortgage. After my 2nd Brain Tumor Removal surgery in June,2008, I was in the hospital for almost a month recovering and basically learning to walk all over again. The planner that I am, I simply did not expect nor could effectively plan for the length of time that I would be away from my job on medical leave. The decline of the economy happened at the same time. My husband and daughter were in a severe car accident 5 days after my surgery and they are both still recovering. As a result, my husband has not been able to add to the family income. 33 consecutive days of radiation daily at a distance of 66 miles roundtrip to the hospital was costly. It saved my life but added to everything else on my family's plate. I decided to write to mission4maureen for financial asssistance. I could relate to Maureen's story as a mom. It broke my heart to learn that unfortunately she lost her battle with her brain tumor. That and my faith in God fueled me to do everything I can to get back to being myself to be more of an asset to my family, as we are not promised tomorrow. This whole experience has been an unanticipated humbling one. Through needing help through my recovery, and ultimately needing help financially. They helped with us catch up our mortgage. I will be forever grateful. Once am released to return to work, which WILL happen, I feel obligated to make a contribution to Mission4Maureen to help another family.

This foundation was one of the best to work with when we where in major need for our Daughter. I had put out hudreds of applications for assistance trying to help get my family back on there feet when our Daugther was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor back in January of 08. Mission4Maureen was one of the first places to contact me back and made it very simple to be able to use there services. They where so compationite and helpfull, and really did there all to make our dificult time so much more easy on us. If it was not for them we could not have made it threw or kept out home due to being out of work so long to rehabilitate our daugther after sugery. They are a wonderful foundation and I thank God that we where directed to them in our time of need. They are truly angels to our family.

My fifteen year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor in January of this year. We learned about Mission4Maureen from the hospital social worker. After a very simple application process we learned that even though my daughter lost her battle with cancer a very short time later, Mission4Maureen would still assist our family financially. They paid our mortgage which was a true blessing to us financially.

mission Maureeen was a God send. After our daughter was diagnosed with a maligant brain tumor. I stopped working the day of diagnosis. to take care of her. this cut our house hold income to less than Half. Within no time our reserve funds were used up. Mission for Maureen has paid two months of mortgage for us. we would have been out on the street with a very sick child had it not been for this network. This diagnosis could not have come at a worse econimic time.with so may jobs being lost. We have to travel long distance for treatment. and sometimes to fill the vehicle takes the very last of funds. I hate to say it but I am glad when we go to the hospital. then I know that our daughter will get good nutritious meals for a few days. we do not qualify for assistance from the gov. This has been a dark journey. and we just pray a successful outcome.. may God continue to bless this charity and all they do for others.

We were really fortunate to come across Mission4Maureen. The organization has been very supportive to our family and understands the needs of families dealing with cancer. Our 3 year old was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma on Nov 28, 2008. At the time we were both working full time and I was 4 months pregnant. Since then, we are down to one income and I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on April 9th. The organization was able to assist us with some of our financial needs. They are a blessing and wondering group of people.

The Mission 4 Maureen is wonderful. They helped us save of familly home of more than 41 years by making our house payment for 6 months. Additionally, they accepted donations from others on our behalf. We simply cannot thank the Mission 4 Maureen enough. My daughter has been battling primary brain cancer for 15 years. I have had to refinance many times in order to offset the high cost of having brain cancer, the high cost of uncovered expenses, travel for treatment such as brain surgery, etc. I am also disabled and feared losing the only home we have ever known. The kindness the Mission 4 Maureen showed us was inspiring, and we hope we will be able to pay it forward one day. We are forever grateful to the Mission 4 Maureen. Sincerely, Jan OBrien Tacoma, Washington

...I cannot think of anything that would made our experience any better. The Mission 4 Maureen is wonderful !!!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
...financial donations so they are able to help other cancer patients and their families.
One thing I'd also say is that...
...we applied to many other organizations, but were turned down because they do not provide financial help for day-to-day basic needs of cancer patients, and their families. I believe the Mission 4 Maureen stands alone.
