Mind Treasure's is a partner in deliverying financial education to an
area of San Diego considered as under-served. The program
curriculum has reached more than 500 students in the neighborhood popular after school program called Prime Time.
This program helps to level the playing
field of equal knowledge on
financial practices which is one of life's essential success tools.
The husband and wife team that created the curriculum have shared
a wonderful gift to the families of this under invested community.
It is amazing to see how second and third grade students are able to
grasp the same basic financial concepts of Saving, Spending and Sharing as adults. In fact the kids get it even more so. As a volunteer
working with Mind Treasures for three years, it has been a wonderful
experience. Now we are waiting to see the results overtime.
Can't wait to see how the community will be impacted in the future as
these children grow into young adults and become entre-philanthropist. There are no doubts that it will be better.

Thank you Alex and Nazila!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

While teaching the fianancial concepts it reminds me to follow the concepts as well in order to manage my own finances with success. i.e. saving regularly for opportunities, spending wisely for the necessities of living, sharing time and fianances with those who are less fortunate or for a great cause that will make humanity better.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

clone the authors of the curriculum and send them all over the world to share these financial concepts.

Mind Treasures is a Gem of a program. The only program of it's kind, children learn the importance of saving and making responsible financial decisions. If this program was adopted in every school in San Diego county, San Diego would lead our nation in financial literacy. I only wish I had the opportunity to learn about credit, debt, and purchasing behavior before I enrolled in college. I would recommend Mind Treasures to any parent who wants to equip their children for a responsible financial future filled with values and expertise.

My own life. I was able to take some of the lessons learned and apply to my budgeting decisions

I would volunteer. It is too soon to make changes, but Mind Treasures could use as many donors, and volunteers to get the program in as many schools as possible

Mind Treasurers is a wonderful organization. Both my kids participated in a program offered by M.T. when they were in Elementary school and they both enjoyed it and learned a lot.
As a parent, I really believe that a program that teaches kids to build a solid foundation in dealing with money
is very valuable especially considering today's financial challenges.
Not only did my kids learn important skills in saving and investing, but they were also taught how to develop key character traits such as generosity, patience, responsibility and gratitude, just to name a few.
Both my kids have become more compassionate towards people in need and are happier to help others by doing community services on regular basis.
I really reccommend the programs offered by Mind Tresurers because they are well organized and kids learn a lot from them.

As a 30 year community child advocate, I was curious about Mind Treasures. I met Alex when I volunteered at one of his classes. I was so impressed with the project, I had to learn more. Not only do they teach children about finance, they integrate essential life values as part of the learning experience. I wanted to be part of the program, so I attended a semimar designed to educate participants on Mind Treasures instructional techniques. I had a wonderful time! The newfound knowledge I took away from the class is priceless! I strongly suggest all parents and children participate in the mind Treasures program! Thank you Alex!

My experience with Mind Treasures has made a major impact in the lives
of my children, and the children in our community. In 2008 my son, who
was 9yrs old ,attended the ABC's of wealth classes for children sponsored by Mind Treasures and facilitated by Mr. Alex Mazloom. And
not only
learned about money and its proper use, but character traits that
I found more inportant in trainning my child, such as patience, moderation,
responsibility, thankfulness,truthfullness,selflessness and generosity.
Marquis took this basic trainning and began to try and find solutions to
issues that he could make a difference. He and few classmates raised
$1,100 to help the PTA purchase a climbing wall at their elementary
school. Since September 2009, Marquis was been working to raise
90K to send 364 middle school students to the Outdoor Education
Program , which was removed due to major educational budget cuts.
The trainning that he received from the Mind Treasures has inspired
him to try and use his gifts and talents to make a difference in his
school and community, and use wealth to impact our world!
MIND TREASURES IS CHANGING OUR WORLD THRU EDUCATION !!

I was raised that money wasn't important. As a result I didn't know much about money and was financially illiterate. When I came to Mind Treasures I was in debt and needed help. The most important thing they did was educate me about money and how to use it. I learned about budgeting, about how to use my money, how to create healthy financial habits and before I knew it, I cleared my credit card debt of $12 thousand dollars. I would never have been able to do this without the assistance of this wonderful program. More importantly, it has given me financial education and as we all know knowledge is power.

I think it is essential for everyone to receive the best financial education possible. As an educator, I feel this should be a mandatory part of our children's education. This is, I feel, the answer to the economic disaster we currently find ourselves in today not only in the United States, but on a Global level. This is the long term solution to prosperity.

I cannot think of a higher recommendation than making sure every child receives this education which will not only empower them, but chart the path to their prosperity.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Ensure constant mentorship. As an adult it is very difficult to establish and maintain new and healthy financial habits. This constant mentorship will ensure, as long as it is encouraging and supportive, that these new financial habits stay in place.

Financial education and literacy through character development - this is so unique in concept and so far ahead of it's time. Everyone whom I have met who has either been involved in this program or gone through its courses, has nothing but compliments and the highest regards for the concept and it's Executive Director.

The inspiring transformations of young minds was made evident in the fall of 2010 at Johnson Elementary School in San Diego county. One third grader on the first day of the after school class program stated he didn’t need to learn about making money because he was going to rob banks. By the fourth week of classes, his demeanor had completely changed and he was now developing and manifesting virtues highlighted in the course such as respect, patience, responsibility. He was now understanding the importance of saving money instead of wanting to steal it. Many of the students likewise experienced many positive character improvements and grew in financial maturity and in understanding the importance of balance and moderation in their use of time as well as in their spending habits.

The rare privilege of molding and reaching youths in setting and attaining financial goals for the purpose of giving back and helping others is one of the most rewarding experiences in the field of education. The potential of so many millions of young ones developing their untapped virtues and using them as a treasure chest to be shared with the world is a blessing no child should miss out on.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Empower the foundation with the resources to expand its lofty objective of raising a generation mentored to become financially stable and independent, and to use that wealth and prosperity for philanthropic purposes for the building of stronger neighborhoods and communities.
