I appreciate what this organization stands for and believe they are doing the best they can for injured warriors. My husband and my application was accepted 1 1/2 years ago; no house yet, which I am definitely not complaining about. We understand how many deserving families are out there and know that we live in a large military community with limited houses available (San Diego).

Our only complaint is that the communication is poor. When applying for a home, no one sends a message informing applicants that they were not selected. It would be nice if a general email went out to those not selected so that you aren't waiting and hoping for months on end until you notice the home out of the "In Review" section. And we never hear about homes available in our area any more; feels like you get forgotten after applying.

Also, we noticed they close the application period before the end date announced and will award homes before their deadline, making it seem like they don't care about all applicants, or care to wait to allow time for as many applicants as possible. It perpetuates the idea that they have a specific injury they are looking for or something.

Overall, I still think they are doing a great job and should be applauded for supporting the wounded military. We face challenges that the general public just doesn't understand and it's nice to know their are people out there who want to make a difference in our lives. they can't serve everyone but at least they are doing something.

This is an awesome non profit organization. They award houses to deserving veterans who on the regular side might not be able to get a house. It is life changing and helpful to families looking for a fresh start on life and to be able to raise kids in a forever home. They pick wonderful houses in wonderful neighborhoods that have wonderful neighbors. I should know...I was a recipient of a home. Great organization to donate to and to become a part of.

So far my experience with this organization has been below my expectations. I have only been able to communicate via e-mail and have a feeling no one knows what they are talking about. It seems no one wants to help me with completing an application for assistance. My question is very specific, yet no one can give me a specific answer to help me out or has bothered to reach out to me. I have called and left messages, but my calls have not been returned.

I think the concept of the organization is great , but the way they communicate with vets and their family should improved.

I also want to add that, I feel the foundation is exploiting vets, it's like they are digging for the deepest, juiciest war stories and the expense of the vets. Haven't they already paid a high enough price, and for some one to dangle a mortgage free home in front of them, in exchange for war stories and sob stories to bring a good name for their organization. That is shameless. =(

Military warriors Is a wonderful non-profit organization who has helped my family so much, not only by awarding my family with a mortgage free home but also by known that they truly care about our wounded soldiers and giving the support that they need. The have the most loving and caring staff. We recently recommend it this organization to another wounded soldier and he was also awarded a beautiful home. Will be forever grateful to this great organization they have made our life so much easier and we love them for that and more. THANK YOU MWSF FAMILY!!!

These one star reviews for this organization are out of hand. They are harassment of an organization that is doing a fantastic job in honoring our veterans, and honestly looks more like jealousy than actual facts about an ill-doing veteran taking advantage. I don't know the specific situation in which they are speaking in regards to. But I know jealousy when I see it, or read it in this matter.

As a Vietnam veteran, seeing these reviews spit on such a great organization, looks the same as when I came home and was shot down by the public. Very few looked to help out our generation and it was the outcry of the few that brought such a terrible image to us Vietnam vets that makes us still frowned upon in the public eye.

You: fthoodmil, txvet, madentx, and concernedmil, (if you are all not the same individual) are a sham. You bring no facts to your public outcry, and also apparently have not even tried contacting the organization for their input before blabbering on a review page. It's people like you, who run and cry and yell at things you don't understand so that life can be better for you.

What do you gain from posting such concerns? "I'll teach them to not give ME a house"

You have a tremendous lack of respect for our military.

To those looking to donate, look up this organization online and see for yourself the work they do. You will see the honor they have for our veterans. 150 homes last I saw were donated to veterans. I've donated since 2010 after seeing them award homes in Dallas at some business event, and I will continue to donate for as long as they are helping give homes to those who deserve.

Donate elsewhere. I too know the recipients referenced below. All I can say is that I'm glad there were no homes in my neighborhood available. An honorable deed does not make you honorable.

I have had the opportunity to witness and know several individuals that have received homes through the Homes4WoundedHeroes Program and have participated in hunts with the Skills4Life Program. The when my friends were initially notified of receiving their home, it was life changing for them and as the they moved and settled in, it was shared with me, just how incredible the support of their employees were. I myself served in the military and know from personally experience that with each deployment, I came home a little different. We all face our own personal battles and demons and I am thankful that there are organizations like this out there providing support to my fellow soldiers like this. Keep up the good work Military Warriors. I will continue to spread the word of all the great things that you do.

I would suggest that there be a better vetting process for giving homes away. Recently you gave away a home to a couple who are in my opinion professional panhandlers. It is a real disservice to veterans that are in worse physical shape that ask for nothing but an opportunity to be a normal productive citizen.

The generous supporters who have worked hard to attain wealth and are kind enough to pay it forward should now this organization does not screen applicants properly. While I am supportive of our military and believe our service members should receive the benefits they are entitled too... I am not in favor of exploiting generous donors and the misuse of their funds to criminals who have lived off others a majority of their life. Please screen your applicants and give to those who deserve!

Please donate somewhere else. This charity does not properly screen their applicants and has awarded funds and/or mortgages to service members and their families which have criminal records, owe back child support, and generally sponge off any charity they can find. They need a much more rigorous application process. My husband is a veteran, my father is a veteran and my money and my time will go somewhere else.
