MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue (a project of Community Initiatives)
I was hit by a car in October and put on bed rest for two months. The two months turned into five and I became increasingly depressed and anxious. Enter Elizabeth, Mario and Bergamot, a pair of sweet, funny, adorable ringnecked doves. Mario and Bergie needed a foster home. I needed a project. Because I was out of work, we couldn't afford a cage, so Elizabeth found us one. Three months later, we signed the adoption papers and are now a happy "flock" of four. Because Mario and Bergie were our first doves, we (OK, I. Did I mention that I was anxious?) had a LOT of questions. Elizabeth and the doves' last foster mother were awesome and patient in answering all of my questions.
