I began my involvement with Miami Heart Research Institute in 2008 when I met Sallie Byrd who asked me to host a kick off for a new event they had created called 'Limo to Lunch'. Sallie and her team have kept me involved and in the loop of the organization since then. I was impressed by the outreach for awareness of heart health that the organization provides. They also made a point of inviting my employees at the time in to be evaluated.

It had been years since I had had a total physical examination and as a result of getting a jump start from a Miami Heart Research Institute off site evaluation, I finally booked an appointment with my physician. It put my mind at ease. Miami Heart Research Institute helped remind me of the importance of one's health!

Hearty Congratulations! They could always use more money! :-)
It's very simple. We work with 100 to 140 NFP organizations each year. MHRI leads the pack in the services they provide, the results they accomplish, their interaction with the community and their ethics.

I would change nothing with MHRI. I just wish we could get other organizations to emulate them!
We have used FHRI on numerous occasions for our clients - presentations, workshops and screenings. The staff is always very professional and knowledgeable. It makes our job so much easier. It is a pleasure to work with the staff and management. Thank you FHRI!

Keep doing what they are doing - wouldn't change a thing!!!
While at a local health store, I noticed a crowd of mostly elderly people crowding some booths. I was pleasantly suprised to see the extent to which Florida Heart was going to go out and there and promote awareness. The elderly are an important part of our society and there are not enough organizations helping them out. Kudos Florida Heart!

Market more. Regardless of how great a service you guys have, if no one knows then no one benefits.
The Heart Institute is a wonderful group that truely cares about the state of one's health. We have had them at numerous health fairs. They are always professional, on-time...early actually, and have a pleasant way with employees, especially when they have to deliver "not so great" biometric news!
I would recommend this group of professionals to any "up and coming" business with an interest in Worksite Wellness.
They are a progressive institute with dynamic leadership.

I was a Teaching Assistant for eight University of Miami students working on a marketing plan for the "Heart of a Chef" event for the Heart Research Institute. Sallie Byrd and Staci Ehrenkrantz of the organization were extraordinarily helpful to the students' professional growth and have an evident passion for their work. Both communicated regularly and effectively with our team and provided us with all the information needed on their organization. I also had the pleasure of being invited with the students to the "Heart of a Chef" event and had a wonderful time experiencing an exciting and educational event organized by the institute.

make sure everyone knows of this organization and the great things it does for the community!
I have co-chaired two years in a row the Heart of a Chef event to raise awareness on heart healthy eating. We have held the event at the Museum of Science so as to make it a family event and thus educate children as well. Tremendous community support and turnout is a hallmark of the event.

We need to raise more funds to expand staff and therefore expand the services it offers.
Florida Heart Research Institute’s has been a part of South Florida for many years. Collaboratively working on research projects with national organizations to bring about the latest in cardiac health improvements. FHR offers free community screenings, counseling and assists those in need of medical attention in finding appropriate healthcare if they don’t have a doctor.
This organization provides important Heart Health services to South Floridians.

Help it expand its services
Florida Heart Institute goes into all communities servicing the public health for free with professional and important screenings. They are also on the forfront of teaching and alerting the piblic to the benefits of push CPR

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
encourage more people to learn of and to donate to the FHRI
in the course of a free cardiovascular screening, i was discovered to have several serious risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The personnel at the Research Institute could not have been kinder or more helpful in educating me about my risk and in helping me to find appropriate treatment. In essence, they may have saved my life! (and they couldn't have been nicer about it)
