I'm concerned that the organization's most recent 990 filing shows a total expense amount of $3,177,975. Of which only $278,600 was paid out as grants, while $1,525,641 was paid out as compensation to employees and $1,373,734 is listed as "other expenses". The CEO's salary is listed as $202,370 (over 6% of the entire organization's expenses). In total, the six highest compensated employees made $791,685 (representing 25% of the total amount expended by this organization). While I have certainly seen more egregious examples, these compensation figures appear to be very high for an organization of this size.

FHRI is an amazing non profit organization, staffed with dedicated professionals that give their all and make things happen seemlessly. They are very involved in the community with bringing 'Heart' issues to the people by awareness of problems to look for in a preventative sense. Their numerous events provide up to date, cutting edge technology that the public can easlily see and understand, put to use in their daily lives and educate in simple terms many ways to be 'Heart healthy.' I plan to continue my past 4 year relationship in supporting their efforts to stop the number one killer of men and women in America.

I've witnessed crowds of hundreds of people lined up for events that are interested in the informational topics that the organization exposes through programs/events throughout the year, educational pamphlets, training flyers and booklets and through their assistance.

I believe we need to put a stop to the most deadly disease in America

Via social media and word of mouth I would say, " FHRI is certainly the most seemless and organized non profit I have ever been involved with."
I have had the benefit of seeing the workings of this organization up close, from clinical screening programs and community events to research projects and presentations. There is a true passion here to make a difference and improve people's lives by improving their heart health, by checking for related risk factors and focusing on prevention and detection, and by educating people on how to live a lifestyle that is good for their hearts. The dedication and efforts of this organization truly get at the HEART of the matter.

Miami Heart Research Institute, has always made themselves available to work with the public and govenment organizations.
I have first hand knowledge of working with this Institute. As a Firefighter/Paramedic for 18 years I have professionaly worked with many organizations to assist in public demotrations. In February all six local Fire Department in South Florida wanted to promote Heart Month. Not only did Miami Heart Research porvide materials but attended the event and had assited in coordinating media and demostrations.

I have had Heart disease affect my family and the work being done by the Heart Institue is saving live and increasing the quality of life for those facing heart disease. In addtion, they are major contributors to the business comminuty, in time, energy, and effort, to promote the success of our business community.

Find ways to give them more National / Global recognition of the research being done and the development in hope that more funds could be raise for continued reseach.
Florida Heart Research Institute has clearly made a healthy difference in the lives of South Florida residents thru their outreach efforts in underserved communities. They have made it easy for residents to be screened for the presence of cardiovasucalar disease by coming to the communities, be it churches, public parks, community centers as well as health centers, where they bring the service to those who need it the most. I have had multiple experiences with FHRI and have found them to be professional in their presentation, prompt is their support, engaging, and they treat clients the way you would want to be treated, with courtesy and respect. Beyond the respectful treatment of clients, they have demonstrated the ability to clearly articulate the results of the screening in a comfortable manner that the clients understand.
FHRI is extremely concerned with follow up of residents who have been screened and have been found to have risk factors. They provide prompt accurate information to health centers that allows the health centers to reach out and provide appropriate follow up care. They also follow up with community health centers to track results to ensure that as many clients as possible have been contacted for treatment.
FHRI is extremely accessible and cooperative. They exhaust all efforts in accomodating as many request for services as possible. As an organization, they show that they care. I have found FHRI to be the best organization I've ever I the pleasure to serve with.

FHRI's participation in the Henry Schein Healty Living Health Fair where one of the participants, the mother of a CHI employee, was screened and found to have an elevated cholesteral level. This prompted her to seek and receive appropriate care that helped her lived a longer and healthier life. This patient has since passed on, but she was afforded more time thanks to the detection of her risk factor by FHRI and follow on care received at Community Health of South Florida, Ind

No changes recommended. They are simply spectacular in the way they presently perform.
I am an Assistant Professor at University of Miami. FHRI funded 2 projects in my lab. The funding was of tremendous help to carry cardiovascular research. I am so grateful to FHRI.
