MERCY MEDICAL AIRLIFT

This is an incredible organization committed to meeting the immediate needs of individuals seeking assistance for medical care. I'm extremely grateful for the service that Air Compassion for Veterans provides for our military active duty and veterans after they've given so much for our nation. Here's just one story. Richard has been undergoing treatment in Portsmouth, Virginia, for physical injuries as well as for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Air Compassion for Veterans provided a roundtrip flight from Arizona to Virginia for his wife and two children. He writes, “It was not only a physical joy, but a psychological joy to spend some time with them. It most definitely helps in the recovery process. Words are not enough to describe the gratitude I have for you.”

Let more people know about this charity, both so that they could benefit from it as well as particpate in providing this service.
We are fortunate to be able to help people who think they don't have the financial ability to travel to distant medical care.
A cancer patient named Beverly from South Carolina wrote to say that she that she had taken a trip provided by Mercy Medical Airlift that changed her life. “My doctors [at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston] have reported that my tumor was dead, and I am now completely cancer free! It’s good to know that we can turn to you if this need arises again. Your services have been an answer to prayer.”

I had to get to Mayo Clinic. After ten years suffering with the most painful condition known to medicine, according to Wikipedia and other sources, I was grateful to get an appointment with one of the best surgeons in the field, but I didn't know how I would get there. My last trip to Mayo, five years earlier, had nearly killed my husband. Tentatively, I tried calling Angel Flights. From the very first contact I was reminded of something I'd heard about treating someone in need as Christ. These folks do that, all of them...consistently. I was a little anxious as my departure date approached but Charlee put me at ease even as she worked overtime to make sure my entire journey was covered. Then on travel days, meeting my Angel Pilots, I was touched by their consideration, dedication, and willingness to work very hard indeed. Such hard work is usually in the service of art or charity, but in these folks one feels it is for service itself, for the sake of the individual right there in front of them.

It was all good news at Mayo with a new, more tailored medication to try before I have to even think about another surgery. I'm optimistic about life for the first time in nearly two years.

Hmmm... This is a tough one, particularly since I'm not familiar with the operational side of how their miracles are achieved. I truly think that they have their workflow down pretty well.
A patient writes: “I wanted to express my gratitude for all of your organization’s efforts in providing a seamless experience from beginning to end. Last month my seven-year-old son, Sam, and I traveled to Boston Children’s Hospital for his fifth surgery…Thank you so
much for providing us with a memorable experience that brought a huge smile to my son’s
face.”

We work with patients who have a rare bone disease and are all around the country. Without Mercy medical, many of them would not be able to come to our facility and recieve care because most insurances do not cover their condition. Mercy medical has been instrumental in helping our patients, and they have been an amazing organization to work with. The people are incredibly helpful and very dependable.

Cannot think of any changes at the moment.
I am a brain tumor survivor and currently enrolled in a clinical trial at University of Pittsburgh. Due to the travel distance and my seizure disorder, I am not comfortable driving to Pittsburgh by myself. I found out about Mercy Medical from the patient advocate in the resource center at UPMC. I called Cathy and she worked with her team to accomodate my travel needs. I am required to travel every 3 weeks to Pittsburgh to receive the vaccine injections. She has removed the travel-related stress in fighting this disease and I appreciate it so much!

I would not recommend any changes because they are skilled and compassionate professionals who understand the needs of patients.
My experience with Mercy Medical airlift has been nothing short of WONDERFUL. I work in helping patients with cancer to travel to seek treatment in a different location (usually quite a bit away from their homes). Due to having cancer and having many medical bills to pay, they are in a financial rut. Everytime I speak to one of our patients and inform them of the service Mercy Medical provides, I can actually "hear" their smiles on the phone and it is not rare that they are brought to tears. Cathy Kelly has been a pleasure to work with and makes this process for the patients extrmely easy and stress free. Mercy Medical has brought hope to every single one of the patients they have worked with! There are nothing but positive things to say! Without Mercy Medical this treatment would be unfeasbale for most of our patients. Once again, thank you for all that you do! God Bless!

the ease of requesting a flight for each of our patients and the confidenceof knowing that each flight will be scheduled without problems. Both the patient and I are sent the flight information so that we know everything is confirmed. It is nice to constantly receive that confirmation for Mercy Medical. Cathy Kelly is such and integral part of the charity. I don't know what we would do with out her!

My story and gratifying experience began when I contacted Mercy Medical Airlift. I had recently found out at age 65 that I had Multiple Myeloma Cancer and had to fly regularly to New York City from Ft. Lauderdale to see the world famous doctor of MM, Dr. Sundar Jagannath at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. Being on a very fixec income, I had very limited resources for travel by air, etc. I found out about Mercy Airlift and contacted them for help. My life depended on their help and to those who volunteer for them as well as the individual, corporations, associations, and others who generously donate to Mercy Medical Airlift's cause of helping people like me. When I called Mercy Airlift, a lovely, extremely efficient lady named Cathy Kelly began to assist me on the spot telling me step-by-step what to do, how to do it and by when. She called me almost daily to check on my progress and gave me very helpful suggestions to expidite my application in order to get approved and booked on a flight round trip. Amazing, this woman worked tirelessly tohandle every little detail. I am alone with my little pet dog Dolly and God brought me another angel to watch Dolly while my air transportation angel, Cathy got me back and forth to NYC. I would never have been able to get this MM care of expertise and literally "fight for my life" if it wasn't for Cath and Mercy Medical Airlift. They help so many, many people unfortunately stricken by the ravages of cancer. But there is always hop, faith and human angels who work, volunteer and donate/contribute to their mission to help as many people with cancer find a way to get treatment. They SAVE so many lives per week. I can only encourage anyone or group or corporation to support Mercy Airlift with their great work. People helping people is what really matters on earth. It is the Divine thing to do and God ALWAYS returns the blessing!! God Bless Cathy and all those at Mercy Medical Airlift.

There is not one thing that I could honestly say that they would need to improve. How can you improve PERFECTION?
Here is a recent testimony: “I am writing to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the role you played in providing me with two airline tickets so my husband and I could receive treatment a thousand miles away from home. Without your support, my husband, who suffered severe brain damage and nerve injuries, would not have been able to undergo his recent surgery to improve his overall quality of life.”
