I've been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County for over three years. It's a great experience, going out in the community and delivering meals so that people in need can continue living independently. The people I work with, both employees of Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County and other volunteers I've gotten to know, are wonderful, upstanding people, providing a vital service. I enjoy getting to know new people through Meals on Wheels, people who are dedicated to a wonderful cause. It's great to know that Meals on Wheels is so dedicated in the fight against hunger.

I am a volunteer with many organizations, but my favorite is Meals on Wheels. It's been a family affair with 9 members of my extended family having served as volunteers---one was a driver until age 92! Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is a family tradition that has proven to be very rewarding---for the clients, but also for us individually. There is nothing more important to a person struggling with issues of health or of aging than to see a smiling face each day, to hear a friendly "hello", and to receive nutritious and tasty food brought by a volunteer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
observing the smiling faces of clients as I greet them; hearing a "thank-you" from appreciative clients; and knowing that over 350 Lehigh County residents are in better health.

Each time I volunteer I return home more appreciative of how blessed I am with good health, a comfortable home, and plenty of food to eat.

Humbled by the positive attitude of so many clients who are in difficult situations.

Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County provides service to members of our communities who are unable to provide meals. This agency visit clients and provide social contact as well as a meals. Meals on Wheels can be a lifeline for the isolated.

I have been invloved with this agency for over ten years. I have has the pleasure of serving on the Board several times, as well as volunteered to staff the volunteer lounge on holidays and delivered meals.
