Service to the poor is our duty to God.
The Mission of the Mata Amritanandamayi Center is to embrace the teachings of Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) through spiritual practices and selfless service, compassion, humility, and love for all.

Mata Amritanandamayi Center is connected to the international Embracing the World organization. An incredible variety of projects are supported. Small donations do make a difference as all seems wisely calculated and efficiently administrated. Volunteers always seem to have a smile on their face. Wow!
Donoring to Mata Amritanandamayi Center leaves me with a feeling that every cent will be spent wisely. Every single one of the charitable and educational activities connected to the San Ramon Center totally makes sense to me. Wherever Mata Amritanandamayi decides to launch a new project, be it farmers' suicides, women empowerment or disaster relief, it simply works well right from the beginning. Lives are changed by this organization. I'm impressed.
Mata Amritanandmayi Center has one of the lowest overheads of any organization I have ever donated to. It is so nice to see my donations actually going to the poor and needy and not to administrators and other hired employees. This is because MA Center and MAM, the sister organization in India, to which it contributes, are run, managed and worked entirely by volunteers.
