its a very good program, looking forward to joining what else MND has to offer
I was unemployed for 2 years while taking care of a terminally ill relative. I applied to quite a few jobs with no success then a friend told me about the Maryland New directions program and I signed up. I have to say that it is the best decision that I have ever made. The information that i have learned here at New Directions, I am sure will help me to succeed in finding employment and I would recommend this program to anyone.
The course is an excellent way to upgrade your professional and interviewing skills. It also helps you prepare for the right career and job that you are applying for.
was very delightful to hear of such a great program.i am forever graceful to been accepted for mnd
I learned a great deal in the class. All of the classes were very helpful in learning all about the Port and how all the goods come through the Port.

I graduated from college two years ago and have been looking for a job for the last five months. I turned down a job right after graduation because I wanted to help my brother run a snowball business that he and I were in partnership with. Because it has been two years since my graduation and I wasn't hired in the field of my study it has made it hard for me to find a job. My guess is that employers have made negative judgments against me because of that and turned me down. I found out about Maryland New Directions two days before the Maritime Employment program started on June 11, 2015 from a friend of mine. I called the number that my friend gave me and the receptionist signed me up and two days later I was chosen for the program from a lengthy list of people who were also interested.
The program is an excellent one, rivaling any college course I have ever studied. You'll learn more in this three-week program than a typical three-month college course. You'll learn interview skills as well as a firm grasp of the international shipping industry that goes on in every port across the world. You'll also get to network with professionals in the maritime shipping industry that a typical person may not know about. This is a great program, I would rate it A+ even if I were to compare to a college course!
I was brought into new directions in the second class by ms Claire and I am learning so much I am greatly apreciative
The Maryland New Direction is a good nonprofit that will help you better yourself.
Hi my name is Jackie I'm apart of the Maryland New Directions program. I've been a resident of Baltimore City for most of my life and I never knew that this program existed. When I joined this program I was a bit nervous because I didn't know what to expect, since I've been here I learned how to use the metric system I learned about the port industry and abroad. This has been the best program that I've attended. This has been the best oppurtunity thus far.My future looks bright.
I think that Mrs. Karen Holmes, Mr. Steven Thomas and Mrs. Sonya Gibbs, all of MND have given me some very valuable information. Information that I know I can benefit from in the future. I found this one, first week to be extremely informative, and educational! I appreciate the information as well as the time put in in order to get the information to me and my fellow classmates. Mrs. Sonya Gibbs, on the very first day, not only made her self available to me in a very professional way, but she also completed the paperwork and processes required in order to have my criminal case from 1987 expunged. How very, very grateful I am!
I am so very, very grateful to both God, as well as the person who put me in contact with this program for pointing me to MND!
