My wife and I have donated to the MCSF for the past five years because we truly believe in its purpose and functioning. We have been privileged to meet a number of the scholarship recipients and to hear their stories of what the scholarships meant to them.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

outstanding citizens from all walks of life.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

offer that many more deserving children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen a chance to further their education.

Great foundation. I was a board member and later ended up using the foundation for my college son. I was terminated in April 2008. And the foundation came to my son/my rescue and provided assistance. I am happy to report that he graduates from the University of Florida in April 2010. My many thanks to the Foundations leadership and Board members. I urge all Veterans of all services to help the Foundation, so that the foundation can help the sons/daughters of Marines and Corpsman. Semper Fi!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

First as a board member, and then as a consumer.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Include graduate school to the scholarships.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Working with the foundation to help the sons/daughters of my brother Marines and Corpsman.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Second to none! A 1 A staff, leadership and Board.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Put through several thousand sons/daughters of Marines through college, and include graduate school.

Ways to make it better...

Not applicable

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Fundraising, Fundraising, Fundraising at a time when the economy is doing so bad!

One thing I'd also say is that...

The staff, leadership, Board and the volunteers are second to none!

I have been contributing MCSF for about 4 yrs. When I retired, being used to having an amount deducted from my pay for United Way, I was looking for an alternative that I believed in and felt strongly about. MCSF has a sub-fund called Heroes Tribute, that provides scholarships to kids of fallen Marines and Corpsman. I now have an amount charged to my credit card monthly, designated for that fund. It was very easy to set up at their web site www.mcsf.com. The MCSF newsletter called "On Point" alerted me to a new golf fund raiser in Wethersfield CT. I've volunteered at that event ever since. The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

MCSF sends a national representative [most recently Clint] to assist at the golf event.

Contributing to the Heroes Tribute Fund.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Exceptionally dedicated. I've met 2 national event coord. As a volunteer, I'm "small potatoes". But I received a callback from the previous CEO, on a minor matter. I really appreciated it, even though he was dealing with his own tragedy at the time.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide more scholarships. Since we are currently active in several theaters, the needs will be greater for the Iraq & Afgan Marine & Corpsman families, for the next 25 yrs.

The Marine Corp Scholarship Foundation is an outstanding way to thank servicemen and their families for their service in the most meaningful way possible....providing opportunity through education. It is run by extremely focused and passionate individuals who dedicate their days to enabling the dreams of Marine families...in a way that requires the full participation and drive of the recipient.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that the recipient of the scholarship is a true partner with the foundation in terms of working hard at both school and work in order to qualify. What better way to thank a family for putting their loved ones in danger on our behalf.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Board members

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Put an amazing number of deserving people in college.
