I find this useful before and after surgery for Prostate Cancer. both support from posters on the Yahoo group and information/education.
The Great!
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Free exchange of experience and the rational tone. Very little ranting and no commercial bias.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Letting people know about it.
I was a Client Served & Paraticipated in on-line discussion group

I've been a cancer survivor now for almost 8 years. The email group has been a great source of information and support during my journey.
The Great!
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the level of candor and openness of the men who feel "safe" in participating in the on-line discussion groups.
Ways to make it better!
- One thing I'd also say is that... it would be great to have a catalogue, index or cross reference of all the topics discussed on-line; the research for info would be easier.
I was a General Member of the Public & got informed and assisted in sharing personal experience

Prostatecancerandgaymen is an active, helpful group, well monitored. Its specific focus is as needed as it is rare. The sharing is generous and hopeful.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... giving accurate and timely address to physical and emotional issues.
Ways to make it better!
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... recognizing the limitations of non professional advice. But this is the nature of every self help group. It does enormous good nonetheless.
I was a General Member of the Public & I watch the malecare forum on yahoo frequently and give moral support for friends and acquaintenances. I am a CA survivor!

I have friends with PC and I frequent this site as it is the most informative, yet, informal in their approach. Without malecare many men would be without knowledge they need and deserve!
The Great!
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the care and concern given one and all without hassle and without blowing their whistle that they are the best, even though, THEY ARE THE BEST!
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... ensure more hope to each and every man concerned.
Ways to make it better!
- One thing I'd also say is that... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
I interact only via the Yahoo group prostatecancerandgaymen, and have found it very helpful. I have also attended an ACS support group Man to Man in my home town, and the Yahoo group is much better. It is there all the time, not only on meeting nights, and when I've asked questions, I got a number of answers from men who have had problems or issues similar to mine. I appreciate the honesty and willingness to help that other members have demonstrated.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... providing an on line place for men to ask questions, provide answers, vent their frustrations, share their fears and hopes, and express their good wishes for others. It was and is the most helpful resource I've found.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... someone answered all the questions. E.g. someone asked what dangers were involved in using cheaper vacuum systems, a statement that someone had made more than once. No answer was forthcoming. Did he not know, or just not read that question. Who knows.
