Being one of the early volunteers in MAD .. I found it very heartening to see it grow in front of my eyes .. I have seen the growth and i am happy that MAD has a strong foundation to support this growth .. It started with a noble thought and continues it as the ultimate aim ... "Providing education and competency in spoken English for the less fortunate children" has been the thought behind MAD .. With the way MAD has achieved their goals and the way MAD plans to achieve further goals, I am sure it can certainly Make A Difference..

The kids, the people, the places, the experiences becomes simply addictive... MAD is like a way of life. It is an NGO that puts its children first and goes far & wide to build their future and help them dream. Being a part of this youth volunteer network brings a lot of purpose, joy & unforgettable experiences to everyone who's a part of it. Go MAD!! ;)

The Great!

when I started having children in orphanages run up to me and the first few words they'd speak would be 'Hello, how are you?'!!! :)

Make a difference - as the name suggests, means instilling a change. Education is not yet considered a fundamental right in India. I still ruminate over days when I struggled to achieve excellence in education. Make a difference helps people like me who have dearth of opportunities to explore one's potential. To ensure that the youth understand the unexplored segment of the nation, I began with make a difference in Delhi. After 8 months in Delhi, the shelter home authorities have expressed gratiutde towards our team of volunteers for taking the first step towards educational liberty. Make a difference is undoubtedly the largest and most committed youth network of India. As Agha Khan states, In a world that is very rich, there are many who are very poor. MAD is about reaching these poor and help them achieve development in its true meaning. It is a change brought by the youth of today for the youth of tomorrow.

Delhi specifically. The team of 800 volunteers speaks one unique language of "change" and the passion to bring a difference across 11 cities in India deserves accolade

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I am content with the developments in MAD and the organised effort of core teams

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Teaching as leadership and the ability to be change master. The smile in the face of an educated child is beyond expression

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

educated, intellectual and established professionals from best organisations, students from best colleges, a unique desire to prioritize a child over oneself

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

educate each child in India for free and ensure educational liberty as in developed economies

Ways to make it better...

MAD spread like a revolution in India and received a platform for children across states

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

sustainable financial support

One thing I'd also say is that...

Make a difference helps me in educating children who are capable but lack opportunities. I belonged to the same segment during earlier years. MAD understands the value of education and the immense gamut of potential it has on one's life.

I could not have thought of a more apt name for the organisation which actually believes in making a difference to the society right from the grassroots. It has been 2 months since i have worked with the organisation and the level of commitment of the children, the volunteers and the management is just outstanding. The organisation is young and has the zeal to excel at the issue we are involved with - the education of underprivileged children. The organisation works very professionaly right from having the responsiblities of each volunteer clearly marked out to having a clear cut curriculum for the children. The look on the childrens faces when you go to meet them every week makes you feel so special and gives you the motivation to work harder. The experience working with MAD has been great and their is still a long way to go and a lot of difference to be made.

The importance of any Non Profit is Characterized by its Uniqueness of purpose and its ability to distinguish itself amongst the whole genre of Non profits , and above all the specific value chain it creates and how well it overlaps with the society value chain. I have an opportunity to work with this NGO for last 1 year, MAD was always making an difference but the thing that fascinate every one about is the impact an NGO creates. I PAT is the lettering of a formula put forward to describe the impact of human activity on the environment.Lets see it in our context. I=PAT. P stands for Population,I feel the most deserving and sought after Population(Its an metaphor here) for any NGO is under-privileged & dependent one. Here we hit the Bull's eye by focusing upon Kids of Children's home. They need it most. Then A stands for Affluence, Here we stands apart in the field Of Intellectual Affluence. We are having a rigorous recruitment team, prudent mentoring team, Sophisticated placement bunch & cornucopia of skilled volunteers who knows their job well sans the individual ego. This intellectual affluence is further catalyzed by the effect of youth reagent. Then come T,Technology; And yes we are equipped with State of art Technologies; like we have computer education for kids, we have evolved a elite teaching methodology in unison with Ezeevidya, our volunteers uses creative tools like Flash cards,ParaZumbles,Learning games(Like King Solomon etc.), we have build a rigorous networking amongst us by making use of biggest discovery of 21st century i.e. Internet. We have feedback forums, suggestion buckets, Idea generation sacks. The individuality of an volunteer is appreciated and nurtured, which in tern get assimilated into kids. We mix learning with fun by organizing out borne tripe for our kids, like summer camp. We are aware that we have to make their small world bigger by providing them magnifying glasses of better focal length. Spending 3 whole days with them at summer camp strength our's bonding. We have educational programs there like Art of Living, Memory Building exercises, You can move too workshops, sports , dancing classes; We make sure that we will color at least three days of their life with the colors of rainbows. And the difference is imminent after these three days. Regarding our Future plans , Yes we are evolving learning at phenomenal speed; We have our sly buss working on it; then we have to strengthen our Placement big; Work prudently on volunteer incentives; And yes soon we will get sly buss from Cambridge University; We will provide computers at all Orphanages,Will start full fletched computer learning for kids, list is end-less but there is no paucity of capability and execution.

It is not everyday that you get a chance to truly Make A Difference. I am speaking for all those who have gone through that phase- "I want to help those less privileged." All those who have pondered over a way to help the society, a viable method to try and restore equilibrium between the rich and the poor. All those who have in their most fantastic dreams, imagined themselves as a savior; a beacon of light to help fulfill the dreams of other, less fortunate individuals. All those who have spent hours at trendy cafes discussing the good and the bad, the oughts and ought-nots, passing judgments, and lamenting at the lack of education among the children of India. If you can identify with any of these above things, then stop talking. Stop talking now. Do something. Join MAD. Even the most cynical person would be forced to acknowledge that the guys who run MAD are true servants of the society. And professional, tech-savvy, organized servants, with a clear goal. I am bowled over by their commitment to MAD, and have been infected by the same fervor too. It is not every day that you get a chance to truly Make a Difference. Don't lose it.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

they have proved that it is not that complicated to Make a Difference.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all kinds. It is difficult to generalize. Students in junior college, senior college, people at regular jobs, home-makers...all sorts of people!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

make India increase its literacy rate by at least 20%. No jokes.

To begin with teaching children is something i really enjoyed doing right from when i was much younger, with MAD this ambition has not only become a reality but in turn i realise that I'm able to reach out to so many kids and help them acquire a skill that can easily become their bridge to the global scenario. Anyway that's about how i joined and reacted to the initiative. When i actually started going to teach i found it hard, it was tough trying to make 50 highly energetic minds concentrate on something that obviously seemed less interesting than the next person's new sharpner. I was thoroughly exhausted on the first day and pleased at the same time because the kids responded to us really warmly, it seemed like the wanted to learn and that was what i wanted to catch on as an attitude for the class to function. As the classes proceeded things became easier, I knew what games to play in order to break the monotony or what wisecrack would ease an awkward student who was just inhibited to give an answer she knew. The kids too started absorbing well and three classes down the line we were on a roll, we had established an excellent mutual relationship wherein everyone would have fun and learn at the same time which is the priority at all times. Now even if i miss a class i think of all the kids and hope they're practicing and waiting for the next week as excitedly as i am. I hope i can continue the madness for a really long time. Cheers! Aparajita

MAD is definitely the place to be. Make a difference is an organisation that is inspirational to those who strive to bring about a change in the society. A network of young minds who struggle to make a difference to the orphan kids. MAD has given me the platform to reach out to the kids and help them cope with their lives, that i always wished for . I may not bring about a great change into the lives of these kids but a smile and a confident gesture keeps me moving forward to become a supportive latch to all these kids. PROUD TO BE A MADSTER !!
