I became involved when my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003. I received so much support, it was truly amazing. I also made friendships which will last a lifetime. Best charity ever! So much money has been raised for lung cancer research by members.

I found this organization by searching the web for a lung cancer support site. My Mom, Aunt, Uncle, Mother-in-Law and Brother-in-Law all died from lung cancer. Then I was diagnosed with it. Have been trying to find my new normal ever since, and wanted to find a site to help normalize the experience, and also to be able to share and help others. It is an amazing place with amazing and kind people. I highly recommend it for anyone living with or loving someone with a lung cancer diagnosis.

I came across Lungevity after the passing of my father in 2008. The people I met have been wonderful! They get you through the toughest of times and give you praise for exciting news! I don't know where I would be if I hadn't found this website.

After a dear friend was diagnosed, I searched far and wide for an organization truly dedicated to lung cancer research. LUNGevity fit the bill in every way. LUNGEvity is a revolutionary non-profit. Recognizing the national need for additional funds for lung cancer research, theyve joined forces with other organizations to effectively DOUBLE the amount that LUNGevity raises for research. An amazing grass-roots effort, with the soul of its organization being members of its community who have been impacted in some way by lung cancer. Knowing where your charitable contributions end-up is an important part of giving. With LUNGevity, I know that the money we raise for the foundation is used in the absolute best ways possible. You cant find that in many of the larger cancer charities that claim to "cure" cancer.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

make amazing strides in earlier diagnosis, more effective treatments, and hopefully someday, a cure!

LUNGevity has given me a place to get and give support. I lost my dad to lung cancer and so many friends and thru LUNGevity I am making a difference by coordinating an awareness/fundraising event and by supporting others going thru what we went thru.

I have been with Lungevity for several years now since losing my wife to Lung cancer over 4 years ago! I started out as a regular member and have grown in my duties to moderating several forums for Lung Cancer support Community forums now! The members at LCSC and Lungevity have been nothing short of caring wonderful people who strive to raise awareness and advocate for other members with Lung cancer and their families!!!

When I was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer Lungevity Foundation provided education and support. The online community is just the best and I belong to several. Now that I am disease free I am working to give back to this wonderful foundation.

The Lungevity Foundation was the first lung cancer foundation. It was founded in Chicago by six women who were all lung cancer patients, only one of whom survives. Lungevity was founded to fund research for lung cancer. Their dedication has resulted in over 7 million dollars of research funding. I learned about Lungevity not long after my diagnosis. A neighbor mentioned the foundation and their November Fall Benefit. I have attended the benefit for two years and last year, was asked to give the Survivor's Speech at the benefit. I have also served on the Benefit Committee soliciting raffle and silent auction prizes.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

funding for research. Most interesting to me is one grant for study to find drug combinations that would overcome resistance that develops in patients who initially respond to Tarceva. A second grant was used to target lung cancer using nanotechnology.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

co nothing differently.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the dedication of volunteers.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated and compassionate.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

fund research projects that would save lives.

Ways to make it better...

Icould be even more involved in this excellent charity.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

raising funding for a disease that unfairly faces stigma as a "deserved" cancer.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Lungevity is an organization I am proud to be associated with.
