When we planted our vineyard in the foothills of the Sierra Madres in 1998, we wanted to find an organization that was really working to conserve and fight for the national forest that was now our backyard. Los Padres Forest Watch was the one! From forest cleanup to condor protection to collaborating with other groups to fight for conservation policies in the region, LPFW is always there. Their small staff radiates out to the larger community involving volunteeers and engaging everyone. We have been extremely pleased to support them and partner with them in efforts to protect the Los Padres Forest and surrounding region.

Patagonia has been a proud supporter of the Los Padres ForestWatch since their inception back in 2004. As a funder and community business member, we really value the relationship and partnership that has evolved with LPFW. They have proven to be a small, yet powerful advocate protecting the Los Padres Forest where our employees and customers enjoy hiking, climbing, biking, backpacking and fishing. They do a great job of engaging our employees to participate in local volunteer events, like the microtrash pick-ups that benefit the endangered California Condor, lead guided hikes into proposed wilderness areas and they have also come to Patagonia to update our employees on important local environmental issues. We'd like to encourage other businesses that value the health of our local communities and the protection of the great outdoors to offer support for LPFW as well.

ForestWatch keeps a watchful eye over the largest National Forest in California, as well as the Carrizo Plain National Monument, no small achievement for a group with a handful of staff and a shoestring budget. They have been extremely effective at protecting Wilderness values across the Forest's 10 designated Wilderness areas, cleaning up microtrash and obsolete fencing that threatens the health of rare resident species like the California condor and pronghorn antelope, and more recently, gathering a coalition of local support for new Wilderness designations. If you hike, bike, or otherwise benefit from the ecosystem services within the Los Padres National Forest, you should consider supporting this group.

Los Padres ForestWatch is an outstanding example of a highly effective grassroots environmental organization. LPFW is providing a bold and clear voice in the protection of the Los Padres National Forest. I'm truly grateful for the important work Jeff and his colleagues are doing. Donating to LPFW is great way to ensure that your conservation dollars have a big impact. I work for a foundation that supports conservation work in California. We have consistently been making grants to LPFW since 2007 and I heartily recommend LPFW to other funders.

We have been donating to LPFW for the past few years, and plan to continue to do so. The organization is full of amazing people that are completely dedicated to protecting the Los Padres forest. They are doing more than anyone else to protect the natural landscape in this area. I want my kids and my grandkids to enjoy what the forest has to offer, and I have faith and trust in LPFW to do everything they can to make that happen. They offer many opportunities for people to volunteer and help in a hands on way, not just monetarily. It creates a real appreciation for the landscape, and all the plants and animals that reside there. I hope they are around for a long time, our local environment and ecology depend on it!

I can't say enough good things about Los Padres ForestWatch. Jeff and the whole staff are extraordinary people who are committed to leaving this world a better place. ForestWatch is always on the lookout for issues/problems that need public attention in the Los Padres National Forest. Please support ForestWatch in any way you can. I have given ForestWatch memberships to friends and family from outside our Southern California area.

I first heard about Los Padres ForestWatch years ago when I read that they were looking for a designer to create a logo for their young organization. In learning of their goals and methods to protect our vast local forest through legal challenges, hands-on backcountry work and community outreach I was eager to offer my support. In the six years since that first introduction my appreciation for the vital work they do has only increased. The Los Padres Forest faces constant threats and challenges and I feel it is crucial to support this organization's diligent oversight and passion to preserve our local wild places, for ourselves and for future generations.

We support Los Padres ForestWatch because it "tells it like it is" when it comes to protecting Los Padres National Forest from damage caused by harmful activities and development. In our younger days we made the erroneous assumption that governmental agencies would fulfill the public trust by protecting federal lands, but our many travels in national forests have shown this to be untrue. So we endorse LPFW's advocacy for the public lands that should be protected. LPFW's staff and volunteers are hard-working, talented, and effective. Donations are used wisely and have a visible impact on public policy.

To know the Los Padres National Forest is to love it; to love it is to protect it; to protect it is to belong to LPFW. This is a small organization with outsized efforts and results in the oversight of a precious resource. LPFW is a smart, lean watchdog that keeps you informed and involved without burying you in information overload.
