As a priest and a volunteer at Joshua's Cafe, I express my satisfaction to the very highest degree for the loving care, dignity and concern the entire staff and volunteers at the Lord's Place show toward all the clients. I praised them on many occasions not only here in FL but also in CT during the summer months. I'm thrilled to be back once again to assist in their true ministry.

I volunteered at The Lord's Place in what they call Joshua's Cafe. Jan Phillips. who oversees the volunteer staff, is awesome! She and her staff treat the clients as humans with heartfelt needs, not as stats. I wish I had more time to vounteer there. They really make both the volunteers and clients feel welcomed.

I have been an active member of my community all of my professional life and believe in the power of volunteerism and care. The Lord's Place is the single most results oriented organization I have been a part of. The organization has saved lives and repaired families and is improving in its mission every day.

The Lord’s Place exemplifies what a non-profit social service organization should be. For more than 30 years it has helped homeless individuals and families not only with “a hand up” but also as a leader and advocate in the community. It focuses on the needs of its clients and is recognized as “the voice of the homeless" in our community. It has been nationally recognized for the work it does and it continues to play a leadership role in guiding both public and private dialogue on how to most effectively serve the needs of homeless people. Not only has it changed the lives of many through the services it offers, it has also changed the way many who have never been homeless view those less fortunate than them. I am very proud to have been a long time supporter and volunteer of The Lord’s Place and will continue to be for as long as I am able.

I am a volunteer with The Lord's Place at Cafe Joshua. I have the gift of having lunch with clients of The Lord's Place every Monday. I use the word gift because that is what it is. It is an opportunity to give back to men, women and even children less fortunate than myself a sense of self worth. A kind word, encouragement, being treated as a special human being which we all are no matter what our circumstances. They all give me so much more than I CAN EVER GIVE THEM. Paula Chattin

I am a licensed social worker new to Florida and have been volunteering at The Lord's Place using my professional skills. Having worked for social service agencies for years, I am aware of those organizations who only exist for the benefit of the employees and to maximize payouts from entitlement programs. This is NOT the case with The Lord's Place! The level of caring-for a group of our population who few even know exists-is extrordinary. The staff is compassionate, genuinely enthusiastic and most professional. Perhaps I have made a difference by volunteering at The Lord's Place; I know that The Lord's Place has made a difference in my life!!

I have been a board member with The Lord's Place for the past few months, after having been involved with the organization in a volunteer/cupporter capacity. What attracted me to this organization is its high level of commitment to its clients - the chronically homeless; its exceptionally talented and dedicated managment team (truly unparalleled and exceptional); their innovative initiatives and programming that has met great success, and continues to challenge the status quo; and a culture of caring and concern for their clients, staff, and the greater community. A donation to The Lord's Place is an investment in a long term commitment and a results oriented program that is making a difference in breaking hte cycle of homelessness. I recommend this organization in any way you are able to serve or support it - without reservation or hesitation!

I have been a volunteer with The lord's Place, at Cafe Joshua for the past 5 years- I am so grateful to have the opportunity to interact with our clients- They have become homeless for various reasons-many of them, not by choice- but, they are all eager to return to the main stream life style and need the support and encouragement that The Lord's place offers them- As a volunteer, we are able to provide the friendship and understanding which is so gratifying to the client as well as the volunteer- Cathy H.

I have been a Lords Place volunteer and Cafe Joshua for over 20 years. I started at Cafe Joshua when it was located on 7th Street in WPB. I was also on the Board of Directors. When the Cafe and Lords Place merged, I merged too and came over to the Board of Directors of the Lords Place. Helping the homeless, and treating them with respect not only makes me feel great but I know i bring a smile to a face of someone. I feel I make a difference in a life by treating them with love and respect.

I have been a volunteer at Cafe Joshua for over 15 years and was a member of the board of directors for 6 years. I have first hand knowledge of the wonderful work that is done to help better lives. The Lords Place nurtures the hearts and souls of all the people it serves.
