Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children. The children receive hair prostheses free of charge or on a sliding scale, based on financial need.

Target demographics:

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

Geographic areas served:

Volunteer opportunities are available on-site at our West Palm Beach Hospital

We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Locks of Love is an unselfish charity that has had personally aided my Daughter with Aloepecia since 2005 and stayed with her until now a college senior! My Daughter is confident, self assured and smart. We met the staff starting with Rhonda years ago, as my Daughter Lauren became a first time recipient. Lauren was thrilled to receive her first hairpiece, it gave her strength. She has recognized many local kids of all ages along the way that became unselfish donors, by sending cards or calling the parents to say thank you it makes a difference . As a parent I can not tell you how my heart swells when I see that boy or girl, holding that ponytail in the paper with a smile a mile wide. I want all of them to know that Lauren has a smile a mile wide when Locks of Love provides her with a hairpiece made from love...Lauren is ready to graduate and Locks of Love not only provided multiple hairpieces throughout the years, they unselfishly repaired them along the way, they kept in contact with Lauren as if she was part of a special family. Locks of love truly care about the recipients. Lauren, truly appreciates everyone that is involved from the donations, to the awareness Locks of Love brings to communities. We will forever be grateful for all of the ponytails that are donated to a great Foundation like Locks of Love. Lauren S. Recipient 2005 -2014 Lifelong LOL supporter
