THE POINT OF DONATING IS NOT TO BE RECOGNIZED, BUT TO ANONYMOUSLY DONATE.
IF YOU ARE DONATING FOR THE RECOGNITION, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO DO IT.
YOU SHOULD BE DOING THIS OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF YOUR HEART FOR THOSE PEOPLE IN NEED, FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL WIGS OUT OF OUR DONATED HAIR USUALLY FOR VICTIMS OF CANCER.
I HAVE DONATED TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL MY HAIR IS 100% GRAY.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I HAVE DONATED MY OWN HAIR NUMEROUS TIMES IN HOPES THAT IT IS USED TO MAKE BEAUTIFUL WIGS FOR VICTIMS OF CANCER WHO CAN FEEL BETTER ABOUT THEMSELVES WHILE IN RECOVERY.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

MAKE MORE PEOPLE AWARE OF THIS PROGRAM AND MORE SALONS WILLING TO TAKE DONATIONS!!

I've given to locks of love 4 times now. More than a foot and a half every time. Not a word of thanks ever.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

As far as I could tell, the 'charaties' took my hair and claimed the donations as my own.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Give credit to the people that actually gave hair.

i cut and gave to Locks of Love about 3 years ago... granted, i had really, really short hair after that cut, but, i had hair.. and learned a good lesson that it's not what we look like, but who we are on the inside that makes us who we are.. my hair has since grown out, and i'm going this weekend to cut it again and give it to Locks of Love... it's the least i can do!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

getting the satisfaction of giving something i have to benefit someone in need

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Ways to make it better...

i could grow my hair faster! i can only participate about every 3 years, but plan on continuing to do so

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time

I contacted Locks of Love to ask if I might be able to use their services for my little girl who has lost all her hair due to chemo and radiation. They never responded. I took a close look at their Web site and it turns out that most of their clients are kids with alopecia (an auto immune disorder, which causes hair loss and no other symptoms). While I think kids with alopecia deserve all the help they can get, I'm not sure why Locks of Love would shun cancer kids -- who after all suffer plenty of nasty physical symptoms as well as hair loss (which can last years and years depending on the type of chemo and location of the radiation). So this organization gets my thumbs down. I'd recommend the group Wigs for Kids for parents whose kids are bald due to cancer.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Ensure that cancer kids facing long-term baldness are also eligible for this nonprofit's services.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Invite all cancer parents to contact the group.

Ways to make it better...

I'd have received a response from this organization.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

This is a great organization that helps out kids in a unique way. It provides an invaluable service by giving children back their childhood. If you're thinking about chopping off your long hair, donate it!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

how happy the kids are when they receive the hairpieces.

Ways to make it better...

I didn't have to wait to grow out my hair!
