This charity provides relevant, worthwhile opportunities that are age-relevant for children. I am Si very thankful to have discovered this well-organized group of dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to facilitate service learning for young children in Austin.
Austin is so fortunate to have an organization like Little Helping Hands. Before I discovered the organization, I often lamented the lack of volunteer opportunities for young kids. Most organizations have an age minimum b/c it takes some effort and creativity to find -- and, mostly, to PREPARE for -- activities with the younger crowd. LHH does the work. The Austin community and my family are the beneficiaries. I love that my daughter will not remember a time that she wasn't regularly volunteering to help others. It is just a part of who she is now. And she is such a compassionate little girl that I have to believe it is due, in part, to this fabulous organization. EVERY community should want to start their own LHH!
I did an activity with my 10 year old step daughter. We had a fantastic time at the Ronald Mcdonald house making meals. I am so grateful to have found an organization that encourages helping others and includes our kids. It is so important!
My children and I have been volunteering with Little Helping Hands from its beginning. I cannot tell you how much volunteering with LHH has affected my young boys lives and our family's overall. The activities are always very well-organized, age-appropriate, and fun for all involved while at the same time helping out the community. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved!
I can't brag enough about Little Helping Hands. Not only is it a fabulous way to teach young children about community service, but it also provides us with quality, fun family activities. I am so happy that our family is involved with this fantastic organization. We look forward to each of our LHH activities and are alwasy impressed with how organized and well thought out each activity is.
Our family has had so much fun volunteering through Little Helping Hands. I wanted my children (age 3&6) to learn the importance of helping others at a young age. LHH gives us a chance as a family to give back and show our kids this important lesson. We appreciate the opportunity and always have fun.
This is an amazing organization. I think every big city should have one. I am a first time stay it home mom of three small boys. I had previously worked full time and worked year round. This past summer I decided not to work and the boys were going to stay home. I was trying to find activities that would keep them busy. I also thought volunteering would be great. In trying to find things to do I found this great organization. They realize that little hands can do BIG things. My boys look forward to the activities and are able to communicate what there impact is doing. We really feel like we are making a great impact. The best part ( the ice cream award is great) is seeing the impact they have on the world. My one son received the community award at school. My other little guy helped pick up trash at a local park without being asked. This is an organization that helps are family show are children that everyone can help. I cannot say enough of the impact this organization has had on our family. We just moved to Austin and this is my favorite part of living this city. I think that says a lot.
Little Helping Hands teaches children about giving back in a fun environment. We assembled food for a pantry that gives to the working poor and the homeless. I believe it is so important for those who have to give back and it is never to young to understand this concept. We had a great time and plan to do it on a regular basis.
Little Helping Hands is a top notch organization. They offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for parents and children to do together. The website and sign up process are clear and concise. The volunteer activities are age appropriate, efficiently organized and show children that they can make a difference in our community despite their youth.
LHH is a fabulous way to help teach children from an early age that helping others is a rewarding experience. We just did our first LHH activity, and it was a fun afternoon for my daughter and me. We are looking forward to many more activities with LHH as we learn about ourselves and the world outside of our 4 walls.
