Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Camps, Centers to Support the Independence of Specific Populations, Children & Youth, Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services, Sports, Youth Development Programs

Mission: The mission of Lindsey's Place is to enrich the lives of children and young adults with special needs by creating a residential experience that promotes self-esteem, self- confidence, and independence. Our focus is to provide experiential programs that promote personal growth in a nurturing environment that is challenging, creative, social, and positive.

Results: We have begun our capital campaign to move forward with a facility of our own. Fundraising supports have grown in the few years we have existed and community involvement is growing. With 3 successful weekend camper sessions, we have served approximately 21 campers, with a high rate of returning campers. Our 4th weekend is coming in April with hopes to host up to 12 campers.

Programs: As funding permits, we offer weekend residential camp programs. We hope to grow and become a year round facility.

I am familiar with the mission of this organization because I have volunteered at fund raisers for many years for a similar camp on Long Island. The children served by Lindsey's Place are in need of a positive experience where they can be themselves. LP provides a safe, nurturing environment for the kids. Here here!

This is a wonderful organization that is desperately needed not only here in the southeast but all over the world, there are children, youth and adults all over his world that have disabilities and just want to have a fun loving life like we all do, and to have a organization like Lindsey's Place is a saving grace for many...just a piece of joy for many to experience in a life that we people without disabilities really and truly take for granted! The Hart Family I have known since I was a little girl in our Church....I wish nothing but goodwill and pray that they can and will succeed with Lindsey's Place future expansion!!!!

I am in awe at the efforts and determination displayed by the people creating this wonderful organization. It is especially inspiring amidst the economic uncertainty causing even more of a challenge to young fledgling non-profits like this. I send nothing but positive intentions, well wishes and much gratitude for Lindseys Place.

I believe that Lindsey's Place offers a safe and nurturing environment for those with learning disabilities.Having had a younger brother with just such an affliction, the organization that Clay attended was very similar to that of Lindsey's Place and what he gained from Green Acres was invaluable. He would come home excited, happy and with a new sense of "self".I cannot stress the importance of places such as these and I hope that the money can always be found that will keep Lindsey's Place and others like it operating far into the future. Lindsey's Place creates once in a lifetime opportunites for children and young people with special needs. It's not often that somewhere this special comes along and I wholeheartedly support all the wonderful things they are trying to acheive there.

There should be more organisations like Lindsey's Place!
