Lindsey's Place is like nothing else in this area. It provides a camping experience for children and young adults. The things I like the most are that the people involved really care about this organization and the campers. Also, the organization isn't limited to just one type of disability. It is open to people with all different types of disabilities.

It’s so great to finally have a place in the southeast area that affords children and young adults with disabilities a place where they can have fun and enjoy a camping experience like so many other non-disabled individuals. Lindsey’s Place allows young people with all types of disabilities, to engage in camp-like activities that they would normally miss out on. They do so many fun things during camp– they sing, dance, play games, draw, paint, and make new friends. Life can be so challenging and hard for these children a daily basis. If you’re ever fortunate enough to see the faces of these special young people light up while at camp, it’s something that you will never forget. Lindsey’s Place is a wonderful organization. It’s definitely a special place for very special people.

This retreat was the most amazing weekend I have had ever. I am totally visually impaired and Lindsey's Place gave me a great place to just be a young person without feeling like I have a disability. I met some inspiring fellow campers and some very caring staff. I am looking forward to returning for another weekend.

Lindsey's Place was founded by wonderful people who put smiles on the faces of children and adults with special needs. It is an inspiration to watch the volunteers interact with the campers and provide them with an unforgettable experience.

My 20 year old grandchild has attended Lindsey's Place weekend retreat twice now and has moved to a new level of being without Mom and Dad being there through the night. The staff is well trained and the venues have been great, especially the one just held in Savannah. I was able to enjoy my weekend and sleep without any concerns for her well being.

My only thought would be that there should be older typically developing teens attending camp also as a way to find and teach future caregivers and healthcare professionals.

I know the person who inspired this camp and how much she benefitted from attending one "up north" before. I hope everyone will support it with their gifts and time as something that is unique and much needed in our area run by top notch people solely dedicated to improving the quality of life of adults with disabilities.
