LGBT CENTER OF RALEIGH INC

I came to Raleigh with very few friends to speak of. The two friends that I did have introduced me to the LGBT Center of Raleigh and now I love every minute I spend there as a volunteer, and I especially love all the amazing and sincere people I have met that help to make the Center work. I can't imagine how many of our patrons would be missing out if the Center didn't push so hard to make sure that everyone who comes in or calls feels welcome and gets all the help and resources we can offer. Being able to serve the LGBT community is a wonderful thing, being able to do it with other people just as dedicated as you are is a gift that you don't find often.

Not only am I a volunteer, but I'm a patron. I was introduced to the center back in 2010. I've seen the center move locations, change directors and give birth to one of the largest LGBT Libraries in NC. The LGBT Center of Raleigh is a community center that welcomes everyone! If you need a place to just come and sit.... get out of the house... there is always a warm welcoming smile to greet you. The center offers many groups for the community, Trans, Gay and Gray (50+ y/o), MClub, NAIL, Youth Coffee House, BInG (Bisexual Social Group), Open Mic night... and the list goes on. There is always something going on, and something to do. OutRaleigh is a festival that is offered annually through the center, and happens in May. If you missed it this year, be sure to check it out in 2013! And last of all... be sure to come out on First Friday of each month. They feature a local LGBT Artist, and offer a great spread! Thank you to the LGBT Center of Raleigh!

I love working w/ this organization. I hold them close to my heart! Great people! The LGBT Center of Raleigh makes me feel like I have a completely accepting place to go and hang out w/ no prejudice.
An awesome place to work and play. The community is so well represented and everyone has something to contribute. The library is unbelievable, there are activities almost daily, and everybody can feel welcome. The annual OutRaleigh event gives us a chance to speak to the entire city of Raleigh and we share our mission throughout the year.

Ex-Board member here. The LGBT Center of Raleigh was so needed and here it stands! Offering programs and cheering on the LGBT population of NC. It has a devoted string of volunteers and members who do everything they can to make everyone feel welcome and supported. I am so proud to have been on the board and to help the center whenever I can.

The Center is a wonderful place for individuals living in the Triangle. North Carolina is one of the most accepting places I have lived, and I feel it is in part due to the LGBT Center here.
