Laurens Wildlife Rescue is a great program. I have contacted them a number of times about wildlife problems, racoons etc and received a postive response every time. I read their informative blog about once a week. Great information about wildlife here in central Ga. Over the past couple of years I have delivered a couple of orphan songbirds to them for rehabilitation. They never got mad about my calls inquiring on the condition of the birds.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... knowing that the birds I delivered to them were returned the wild.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The professionalism and courtesy I was extended by the staff.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very knowledgeable about wildlife.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... educate Ga. on dealing with wildlife.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... LWR was geographically closer to me or I to them.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... financial. The costs of wildlife rehab are staggering.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... We need more organizations like LWR.

Since its inception, I've written several newspaper articles about Laurens Wildlife Rescue, Inc. The response from the public is obvious in the calls we take at the newspaper after the articles are published. LWR not only aids the wildlife in our region, but educates the public about encountering injured wildlife, what to do if the public finds wildlife babies, what protocol should be taken for rabid animals and more. From an educational aspect, LWR is providing a critical service to the community - and from a hands on rescue aspect, LWR is answering a need that no one else regionally can provide.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... seeing the response of the community in how to handle injured or diseased wildlife.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... Not only a caring and compassion response, but every encounter with Laurens Wildlife Rescue is an educational opportunity.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Compassionate, dedicated, exceeded knowledgeable expectations
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... transform how the public respects wildlife and educate the public about encountering wildlife and the importance of nature.
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... resources! If there were more certified volunteers available, Laurens Wildlife Rescue could multiply the profound effect of its mission.

Excellent group...whenever we come across injured wildlife Laurens Wildlife has been great to deal with. We bring the animals in, and they will see they are either rehab'd or to somewhere for more specific needs! They provide a much needed service for our area!!!!! - from all of us at The Rescue Ranch!

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... They return phone calls and are ready willing and able!
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... always professional!
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... service ALL of grassroots middle GA with education and rehab facilities! They do a great job and know their stuff!
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... lack of financing being in a very poor rural area.
