I've been involved with Kybele since shortly after the birth of our son in 2004. I met Dr Medge Owen during the delivery of our son and we instantly connected through our professional and personal lives. The mission of caring for laboring women in developing countries, struck a chord with me and the women I cared for abroad. Dr. Owen joined me on a trip to the Republic of Georgia and developed a highly respected teaching program and changed the lives of women through advancing health care for women in birth. I was then invited to join the board and we ventured to Ghana where astounding progress was made in women's health care. It's a miraculous process when witnessing lives of both mom and baby being saved through this initiative of international doctors and nurses joining together so passionately.
