Nice staff. Lots of positions needing help but seems like after you sign up for all these positions, all you're ever asked to do is help with the phone bank! Would be nice to be able to help out in other categories besides answering phones.

More feedback...

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Clean, skilled, polite and nice.

The staff are extremely helpful in letting we volunteers know what is needed or how best to assist in volunteering. The training for the various positions is more than adequate. I only wish there were more PBS stations in the area like there are in the San Francisco/San Jose viewing area.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I am most impressed with the extent of the programs and community outreach this station has developed.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

try to expand the program scheduling. If that means more pledgeing to pay for the better programs, so be it!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The people I have met

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very Helpful

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand the programs offered and perhaps have more that the stations it currently has now.

Ways to make it better...

There were more PBS stations available to everyone in the area. There are 13 or so religious programs and only one PBS station. Sounds a little lopsided wouldn't you say?

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The lack of extra programs available in this area.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I like KVIE, but want more of the programs to be aired.

I love 6! Shout that out in a crowded room and you may have to explain yourself. But that cuts to the core of what KVIE, Sacramento's public broadcasting station, means to me. I have been an active volunteer for almost 17 years. In that time I've worked on-air during membership drives, as an art auctioneer and hosted a regular spot on one of our locally produced lifestyles programs; I've run camera, served as a studio captain, trained new studio captains and countless phone banks, and worked too many special events and major donor functions to remember. As I've aged and my finances have improved, I've become a major donor myself, and my company is a program underwriter. Perhaps my greatest pride comes from serving two terms on the Community Advisory Board, followed by three years on the Board of Directors. I say all this not to brag about myself, but to demonstrate my knowledge of KVIE on every possible volunteer level. There is no finer non-profit in the state! And California's a Very Big State! After a lifetime of volunteering, I can sincerely say I've never been with any one organization longer, nor more fervently supported their mission with my time and resources. It should also be said I've never worked for an organization who takes better care of their volunteers. Everyone on staff from the President on down knows our names and has an open-door policy for us, recognition is frequent, an annual banquet and other "perks" are just icing on the cake. I'm certainly not saying I do what I do for a free ticket to a concert or another gold bar on my nametag, but it's nice to know I'm appreciated. Most of all, I know that everything I do there makes a difference in my community. Truly, KVIE is not only television worth watching. It's worth supporting with my time and resources!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the eyes, smiles and minds of our community's youth, the population who perhaps most benefits from educational public television.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

try to find a way to involve more young people as station volunteers.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

knowing that I make a difference every time I walk through the door.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

completely and fully dedicated to the mission.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

significantly increase our non-television outreach by leading more community workshops, distributing more books, working more with teachers in the classrooms . . . the possibilities and needs are endless.

Ways to make it better...

I had joined KVIE as a volunteer sooner!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding. In non-profit television, it always comes down to money.

One thing I'd also say is that...

KVIE ROCKS!
