Our son was diagnosed with severe food allergies while still an infant. He is anaphylactic to all forms of dairy and peanuts. It was so hard being told "Just avoid all dairy and peanuts when you feed him." The doctor handed us a list of common "dairy" ingredients and off we went. It really turns your world upside down to realize that the entire way you have eaten up until that point is no longer safe for your child. Have the Kids With Food Allergy network to turn to for advice and just talking about what we were going through was a tremendous help! And then being able to go back to the doctor and say, "Listen, you need to tell people about this organization!" was huge! I've been a supporting member of KWFA for several years now...and I'll continue to be even if one day our son outgrows his food allergies. The work they do is important for both the parents and the kids.

I am a mother if a 13 month old with five foods he is allergic to. When I found out about this I felt very alone and uneducated until I found this site. The contributors are quick to respond to questions and very supportive. I am so grateful for this group. I really don't know where I would have gone for support.

When my son had an unexpected allergic reaction to cow's milk at just 6 months old, throwing us down a long and troublesome road dealing with multiple food allergy diagnoses, I immediately sought out the comfort and support of others dealing with life-threatening food allergies. Kids With Food Allergies is where I found that kind of community! This foundation has been an irreplaceable source of knowledge for me, giving me the tools to keep my child safe. If it wasn't for the valuable information found all throughout KWFA's resources, I wouldn't have known half of what I know now, and I might have unknowingly endangered my child's life by misjudging when to administer the EpiPen Jr. or when to recognize the signs of anaphylaxis. Thank you KWFA for everything!!
