Mission: The Kids In Need Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 1995. The Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. The Kids in Need National Network of Resource Centers includes 34 facilities that allow teachers from low-income schools to obtain free school supplies for their students. The national sponsor of the Kids In Need Network is Target, a long time supporter of the Kids In Need Foundation. In addition, Kids In Need Teacher Grants provide preK-12 educators with funding to provide innovative learning opportunities for students. Our School Ready Supplies program distributes backpacks filled with supplies in communities not served by Resource Centers. The Second Responder® program provides free backpacks filled with school supplies to students affected by natural disasters. The Kids In Need Foundation has distributed more than $650 million in school supplies since its founding, directly benefiting 4.2 million students and 120,000 teachers annually, and has awarded more than $1.6 million in grants to teachers. The Kids In Need Foundation has received Charity Navigator’s highest four-star rating for three consecutive years, indicating that it executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way and outperforms most other charities in America. There are 38 Resource Centers throughout the country that make up the National Network. The Teacher Grants program provides funds to teachers to conduct innovative classroom projects. School Ready Supplies provides backpacks filled with supplies to students who are not served by Resource Centers. Kids in Need Foundation helped my students to get supplies for a great hands-on project that they will remember for a long time. I am very grateful to Kids in Need Foundation for giving my students an opportunity to have memorable learning experiences.

The Kids In Need Foundation is a non-profit foundation. They were a life savor when our students were merged with another school. We had limited amount of materials that would help the students continue a high standard of self-esteem. From the free materials to the monetary grants that they supply, has been an enormous benefit to my students from low income homes. Working at a school that is a Title-one school isn't easy when you have to actually pay for the extra thing that your students may need and that's where Kids In Need step up their giving! My first year of teaching, I would not have made it through the school year if Kids In need would not have given me free school supplies ! I am More Than THANKFUL for Kids In Need!

I am an elementary school teacher in an unprivileged school. I found out about this profit organization during my vacation when I was researching for funding to do something special with my students. I submitted a proposal to create a butterfly garden at my school and it was funded. There is no words to express my sincere gratitude for the grant. It was such a wonderful, hands on experience for my students. We grew perennial seeds in the classroom, researched butterfly attracting flowers for our gardening zone and for the culminating activity planted a beautiful butterfly garden. All the early grades released their butterflies in our garden! Thank you again for your generous donation!

I believe the writer of this review meant to write nonprofit organization instead of profit organization. The Kids In Need Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.

The Kids in Need Foundation has helped me teach math in a more hands-on environment to inner-city students at the high school level by funding grants for our projects. The grants allow me, as a teacher, to supplement my curriculum with resources that would not have been available otherwise. My students love seeing math in action as they do the projects, and have grown to like math too!

I have been a recipient of the Kids In Need Foundation grant for three consecutive years now and the grant made a huge impact on my students. They helped me hone my students' skills and abilities through funded projects. We need more programs like this in helping teachers provide fun and educational activities for the children. They staff is also very approachable whenever I have questions or clarifications about a certain grant. I highly recommend Kids In Need Foundation to all teachers across America.

The kids in need foundation has provided grant money to allow my math students to learn math with hands on projects that they may not have had the opportunity to do without the grants. Turning learning math into an adventure makes the students learn with enthusiasm and will hopefully start changing the way the general population views math. Mathematics is very practical and learnable! Thank you for providing the funding for fun math projects for my English learners in math class!

The kids in need foundation's grant allowed my students to experience math in a practical hands-on way. They really enjoyed making the circular coasters, and I learned a lot about their home countries from their creative stories through this project. I work in a title 1 school where many of my students live in extreme poverty. It was exciting to see the students actively engaged in their project. Many of them gave their project to a relative as a gift as well. As ESL students, the kids get to experience many things in America that they never dreamed of in their home country, yet many miss their home country. This project gave them a way to share about their home country and take pride in their heritage. Thank you!

I have recieved two grants from this fund. It is the most hassle free organization that I have worked with. They have faith that you are a professional and let you spend the money to help teach your lesson.

I have been a recipient of the Kids In Need Foundation. I teach in a school where 99% of the kids receive free lunch. The grant gave our Kindergarten kids (125 kids) explore fruits and vegetables they have not seen and tasted. The project promoted healthy eating to the Kindergartners in our school. It was a very awesome experience to them. They had so much fun! Thank you so much!
