I cannot put into words the true impact this grant has had on more than 500 students at my school. I organize a program for exercising called the Mileage club where students walk, jog, or run during their lunch recess. The distance each child travels is tracked and they earn prizes at different distances with some individual and classroom challenges. The students are so excited that I am constantly being asked "when is Mileage Club?" and, "when do I get my prize," and, "I only need a few more laps to earn..." It is an aboslutely amazing and inspiring program that I am thrilled to bring to these students as a result of being a recipient of the Kids in Need Foundation's grant. Many thanks!

Kids in Need is the perfect name for this program because it truly helps Kids in Need. With more and more cuts to education, it is difficult to get the needed resources to make learning a great experience for our youth. Students that are actively engaged retain the learning better and the money from these grants helps students apply their learning in a meaningful way. One that is better for all students and schools. Thanks for helping our Kids in Need!

My students produced a Fashion Show for the fashion marketing class. The money helped us create a real show that was a hit! Students show fashions that are appropriate for the workplace and those that are not. It was a creative way to show how to dress for success and to connect with the students interests for a career in the fashion industry. A win-win situation.

Our district has had extensive budgetary cutbacks with the recent downtown in the economy. I wanted to enhance my students learning through creative activities, but was unable to do so. The Kids in Need grant allowed us to integrate academic and leadership skills in a creative, life-changing way. We are studying the role public service announcements play in societal change. The students are looking at needed areas of improvement in our school and community. They are researching and developing public service announcements that can be used in print (newspapers), on local radio stations, or on a local cable TV channel. This process has give my students the opportunity to take on a leadership role in a creative process, while practicing the basics of reading, writing, and research.

Crayons to Computers' partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation dates back to 1997. Since then, we have been the fortunate recipient of tens of millions of dollars worth of school supplies for our teacher's free store. C2C serves more than 5,000 teachers and 100,000 needy students from schools in 16 counties surrounding Cincinnati, Ohio.
We truly appreciate Kids in Need's efforts to procure product for our Resource Center. We have enjoyed exchanging ideas over the years with the Foundation's team and have made many friendships along the way.

The Kids in Need Foundation is one of our largest product donors and provides C2C with critical school supplies to distribute to needy students, free of charge. Without their support, our Resource Center would not be the success it is today.

I would love to have the Kids in Need Foundation located in Cincinnati. It has always been my dream.
I was so excited about this grant, it gave me an opportunity to plan a fun engaging activity for teaching measurement. Students generally struggle with measurement, a lot of it is due to not having exposure to hands on experiences. My students were able to do something I call the Measurement Marathon, where they race around the campus doing different measurement activities. The grant allowed me to buy scales, and other measurement tools allowing the students the hands on experience.

The grant process was very easy. My only wish is that the check did not have my campus name on it, becuase of this I was only allowed to purchase items from our school district vendors and their approved items. I would have been able to get things for a cheaper price and was not able to get all of the items I needed due to this hiccup.
Well, we are so grateful for our Kids in Need Grant ! I teach kindergarten and am very aware of the curriculum pressures of getting children ready for this and that. One of those areas is state writing tests by 3rd grade. Storytelling is huge in our K classroom as an instant avenue to hook on to children's imaginations while covering that list of skills ! AND more ! Our grant allowed us to create an awesome theater and further offer interested "takers" the opportunity for expanding speaking skills...They all say, "pick me", "pick me!" We love our "Sunflower Playhouse Theater", Again Thank you !

I would simply find a way to spread the word for more teachers to apply.
I received a grant that will allow my students to create their own habitat models. We are still learning about some of the habitats. The grant money was used to buy materials to create the habitats as well as educational resources to learn about different habitats. The money arrived when promised and the Kids in Need Foundation is wonderful!!

The Kids in Need Foundation provided my students an opportunity to stay off the streets and do something constructive and interesting. With the donation we built a fully functional hybrid remote control go-kart. A vehicle completely emmissions free as well as human or computer controlled. This project gave the students a reason to learn and have fun learning. The professional contact was very plesant and extremely helpful with any questions I had.

I am a science teacher and a department chair. As a department we have had the good fortune to be awarded a few grants over the years and it has given us the ability to purchase equipment to run experiments that we otherwise could not do. We have obtained, balances, thermometers, beakers, stop watches and consumables that have enriched our curriculum delivery in a huge way. Our science department is 4 times better because of the grants and what they have allowed us to purchase.

Through equipment purchases, we have been able to let students experience science by manipulation instead of just reading about it.

I received a grant to fund a project that will help students create classroom project posters with better clarity. The application form is straight forward with easy to follow directions. The actual grant money arrives when it is anticipated to arrive and questions are answered quickly via email. This is a wonderful organization that provides grant money for many projects.
