I'm a center director in the Netherlands. I went to the states to bring Kidpower to our country. I love the down to earth and age apropriate aproach to people safety skills.

I'm very impressed with the down to earth attitude of the workshops.
I particularly like the parents- Kids
workshops where parents learn alongside their children how to address serious issues in an emotionally safe and effective manner.

I took my daughter to a workshop, and she really loved it. Both my kids were excited to learn easy ways to describe their feelings, and strategies to help them deal with other kids at school who were causing problems. They like to practice the skills, and are getting good at telling me what they think the right reaction is to various situations. And we all use the trash can (a way of handling negative remarks) all the time. Overall, Kidpower is a great organization, and I wish all kids had a chance to go to the workshops.

Kidpower is an organization deeply committed to the safety of all people. I have been so impressed with the constant desire to improve the curriculum, to increase service, and to meet the needs of new clients. It is an organization that "walks its talk." It is run by a small group of dedicated individuals who work as an amazing team to provide life-changing skills to so many people each year. I believe everyone, from the people who process registrations or make reminder phone calls up to the Executive Director, at Kidpower strive to give their absolute best, everyday. I feel very proud to be part of the organization.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

getting to be a part of students learning so many life-changing skills in such a short period of time.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated, passionate, kind, supportive, professional and deeply committed to the cause.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world (just look what it has been able to do with so much less).

I've been amazed to see how Kidpower skills have helped me deal with all kinds of challenges over the years, both with people I know as well as with strangers. Having these skills helps me feel more confident and a lot less worried than I felt in the days before I took my first Kidpower class. As a parent, I have more peace of mind, because I can see my kids using good, solid skills to make safer choices. It's fun and exciting to be a part of the process of helping other people figure out, in just a small amount of time, ways to take charge of their well-being every day.

I have had the honor of working with many talented and dedicated people to create curriculum, develop services, train instructors, and establish centers around the world. We have reached over 1.2 million people of all ages and abilities, especially children and women in need, with empowering, effective skills for taking charge of their emotional and physical safety. The skills we teach prepare people to use boundaries to build better relationships; advocate effectively for the well-being of themselves and others; and protect themselves and their loved ones from most bullying, molestation, assault, and abduction. Our challenge is to become much more widely known as a valuable resource to use and an important charity to support.

As a woman who has a lifetime commitment creating social change in a way that is both powerful and respectful, Kidpower has given me the opportunity to put my values into action. I am also personally safer and more confident because of this work.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find much more funding so that our services can become much more widely available both locally and internationally. I would also have Kidpower become much more widely known.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the connections with wonderful people from all over the world and the opportunity to help so many people have more joyful, safer lives.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

exceptional.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

1. Use technology much more effectively in giving people more access to our work; 2. Reach a million people a year, especially from higher risk areas; 3. Pay our staff more comfortable wages and benefits so that they can afford to do this work long run.

Ways to make it better...

I had known when we started what I do now!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding and visibility.

One thing I'd also say is that...

KidPower has helped me gain self-confidence and turned my life around when I needed help. I learned many different ways to set boundaries and feel safe, it really changed my life both in my personal and professionnal activities. In fact, it did me so much good that I joined as a volunteer, and have been volunteering with KidPower for +10 years now.

I could afford not to work..and could work full time instead of part-time volunteering..It is fulfilling and such a great feeling to see the change in others that attend the workshops.

I think Kidpower is an extraordinary program teaching people safety skills. I hope one day that it becomes part of every school program.

I first encountered kidpower when looking for a program to help my daughter learn how to be safe in our own neighborhood. I loved how effectively the lessons were taught and learned by the children in the workshop ina non scary yet empowering way.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

be overwhelmed. They do so much, so well. I am delighted to be a part of this organization.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The respectful manner in which they operate with the public and their own trainees and employees. They are joyful, caring, thorough, and dedicated to their mission.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Thoughtful, skillful, dedicated, and ethical.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

be able to offer the program for free to all schools. Imagine a world where everyone had a chance to learn how to keep clear boundaries and get help when you need it. A world where we all knew how to work together responsibly and safely.

Ways to make it better...

I was so impressed, I couldn't imagine doing a better job.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting people's attention. People are so busy and distracted, but when they have a chance to stop and find out what Kidpower has to offer, they love it.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The Kidpower program is simply wonderful. The great challenge of teaching is to find a way to teach so that the student is able to actually apply the skills, not just know about something. Kidpower succeeds in changing behavior positivley and effectivly
