I have worked with this organization for fifteen years and chose to do so because it is truly makes a difference in people's lives. This is an interpersonal safety education organization that helps individuals reduce their risk of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. I began as a volunteer and have helped our Center train more than 28,500 individuals since 1994. This is an organization that values respect amongst its staff and clientele. The staff of this organization work here because they are completely committed and dedicated to its mission and that is extraordinary.

help increase funding so that it could be more widely accessible to individuals all over the world. Staff, who work incredibly hard and who are enormously dedicated, would be paid what they are worth with strong benefits.

My experience with Kidpower first started with the kids' program. But the immense depth and consistent use of organizational values, the wealth of knowledge, and high impact skills training as well as the overall empowering effect of all its programs just floored me. It convinced me to start a center in Montreal and run all Kidpower programs.

Kidpower provides children, teens, parents, and other adults with empowering information and skills to not only stay safe but to create healthy boundaries in all our relationships. Without scaring kids in any way, Kidpower workshops help them learn to set boundaries with friends, family members, bullies on the playground, and strangers that keep them from being a target and strengthen all their relationships. All the parents who have participated in these workshops have found it to be very valuable.

I am an instructor and trainer. Every class I teach strengthens my commitment to everyone's safety and well-being. I appreciate how the Kidpower programs respect individuals and support choices while imparting skills for articulating needs, wants and boundaries in safe and respectful ways. I have witnessed the sense of personal power and strength emerge as students have learned the "emergency-only skills". It is amazing and gratifying to see women, men and children find their voices and use their own power to successfully defend themselves.

The first time I saw a Kidpower class I thought "Wow! This is something very unique". I had seen very many workshops for empowering women through self-defense but NOTHING like this! It is not only what is being taught but they way it is being taught that is so well thought through, compassionate and very empowering!

I have had the honor of working with many talented and dedicated people to create curriculum, develop services, train instructors, and establish centers around the world. We have reached over 1.2 million people of all ages and abilities, especially children and women in need, with empowering, effective skills for taking charge of their emotional and physical safety. The skills we teach prepare people to use boundaries to build better relationships; advocate effectively for the well-being of themselves and others; and protect themselves and their loved ones from most bullying, molestation, assault, and abduction. Our challenge is to become much more widely known as a valuable resource to use and an important charity to support.

I had heard fabulous things from parents in my community about Kidpower. I took my daughter to a Kidpower Workshop when she was 5 years old and was amazed at the valuable and relevant information! But I was also impressed with how fun, interactive, and the non-feared based ways in which the skills were taught. There was nothing scary about learning how to be safe around people! I realized after that class that both my children needed a Kidpower class - but not just once. They will each attend every year of their lives until adulthood. People safety skills are like water and bike safety skills - they need to be lived and practiced daily. I sincerely believe every child and teen needs and deserves a Kidpower Teenpower class every year.
