Kidpower-Teenpower-Fullpower is a fantastic program. When they were very young both of my children attended workshops and learned such valuable skills in setting boundaries and staying safe with strangers. Now, as confident teenagers maneuvering through their lives they still remember those workshops and apply the skills regularly and happily, with due caution but no fear. Thank you for a wonderful program and staff!

This is one of the most well thought out children's programs I have ever seen! They tackle subjects that leave most adults tongue tied head on in a completely practical and age appropriate way. They work with all levels of kids and every kid I really wish all kids could experience their workshops!

Kidpower is one of our favorite organizations, one we make a point to donate to regularly. They help kids and the adults who love them navigate in a sometimes confusing and unsafe world, and they do with heart and humor and lots of cheering, which is really fun. Helping kids grow up to trust themselves and feel at home in their bodies is one of the best gifts we can give.

I took my two kids to a kidpower class so they could learn how to stay safe, both physically and emotionally. I love how they have people practice acting out scenarios (and they keep things upbeat, not scary), so that the kids can remember what to do. Now my kids know to always check first with an adult, and they are empowered to know how to handle things when confronted with a bully or someone trying to put them down. I wish I had had such training when I was a kid. They also have very insightful articles on their website which I use to refresh my and my children's memory about what tools we can use in different situations.

Kidpower came and did a workshop overivew of their program to new moms and our mother's group gave them excellent ratings, so we invited them back and they continued to provide fantastic information about how to keep our kids safe, and how we can constructively talk with our children so they are not afraid and yet know how to be safe. Highly recommended!!

My name is Praveen Vempadapu and I am development professional. I attended Kidpower training in 2008 on how to teach children to be confident and safe. I was very inspired on how we can build a community where every child can be safe. The training gives the children very useful and important tools like how to be aware, setting boundaries, how to handle strangers etc. It is also very fun and entertaining for children. We started kidpower India and now we provide kidpower trainings in India. After the first training one of the participant called us to inform on how she used kidpower skills. She was in a train and a drunk person was troubling her. She immediately used her voice power and shouted 'No - Please leave from here'. The person got startled and left. We knew this service is needed in India and definitely in all the places where there are children because every child needs to feel safe.

Kidpower, as an organization and community, practices what it teaches. The organization as a whole is ethical and its integrity shines through in its curriculum, staff, volunteers and programs. The dignity and respect of every human is honored allowing a person's powers to help keep themselves safe.

Kidpower has taught me so much about myself and about how to react in any type of situation. As a translated the work, I was not only working but learning and relearning things that my parents taught me when I was younger-and I thought ""GREAT, finally!...this is the parents handbook on how to raise their kids safely and how to talk to them about scary situations!" I honestly think that if each parent got one of Kidpowers comic books, there would be better parents out there and children would be safer. I also took their self defense workshop and after that I felt that when I walked in that room I really didnt know what I would do if I were to get attacked, now when I am alone in dark/unsafe areas I feel impowered and confident.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

not make any changes. Everything about it is so organized and detailed. Irene and her team work so hard and make sure that things are done with every person in mind. I am proud to be part of such a great organization.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world, and the way children are raised

Ways to make it better...

i could have spent more time in the office or perhaps observing classrooms and seeing how children react to the workhops.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding for free workshops for low income communities

One thing I'd also say is that...

I love Kidpower and I am PROUD to be able to work for them.

I became involved in KidPower many many years ago. I originally got involved through a dear friend and client who became a spokesperson for the organization. I went to her graduation and was so impressed in her transformation, I took the training and then when my boys, who are now 25 and 26, were old enough I gave them the training. I realized through my training the confidence and knowledge of my own strengths. I owe KidPower for all the was given to me and my sons. I was able to let my children go out in the world knowing they had the knowledge and ability to be safe. I saw the benefits then and know it helps them to this day to be confident in themselves where ever they go. I continue to stay involved and connected for anyone I know who can benefit from this organization. Everyone should know how to be Safe.

For many years I volunteered my expertise in marketing and Internet marketing to KidPower because of my opinion of their work. What they do is of the highest possible standard and effectiveness, and the organization operates with outstanding levels of quality control and ethics. Their integration of all the key aspects of self-protection and personal safety (understanding, awareness, intuition, emotion, and verbal and physical skills) into a thoroughly positive and life-enhancing process is extraordinary. I have a third-degree black belt in Aikido, and have practiced karate. I have taught workshops similar to Kidpower's, and am intimately acquainted with this sort of approach. I would recommend them to any person or organization - for children and adults.
